Great episode! Safe passage to all aboard! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍

  • @SebastianMG1810

Since you are in the east side of Sardinia you should spend a couple of days around the islands of tavolara and molara

  • @asd67lkj

Awesome sea conditions for a crossing like that one, however, as a sailor. would prefer at least 12knts of breeze….

  • @user-qi9dl3ur7r

5:50 you and watch officer playing chess sitting on the sopha. was it underway and thus with no lookout at 11 knots speed or that was just a fragment from another video being anchored or alongside?

  • @sjcosh

Great work Capt, fantastic video as usual. Please keep this style coming, love behind the scenes stuff.

  • @captainmurk3745

I can think of 3 plausible explanations for the Japanese ships:
    – on exercise
    – for the Paris Olympics (but it all depends on when you shot your video). There are nautical events, but I doubt that France needed boats so far from their home ports. I don't think there's a Japanese base in the Mediterranean.
    – Fin whale fishing is their new attraction and is often criticized by Sea Shepherd. So to protect their factory ships.

Seeing you sail across the wide open seas it dawns on me I could never do this! The reason, I can't be armed to the teeth for defense if the time arises. An attack will likely never occur, but I'd be uncomfortable knowing I have no defense, not even one gun! 👍😎✌🗽

  • @crossfiteer

Great video cap, thank you for the content

  • @LostCannuckSailor

Those are the the Kashima and Hatakaze (or Shimakaze) they are the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Training ships. They do an around the world tour every year or two, to train cadets. Likely heading to or from Europe for part of that.

  • @TradeWindgng

    Love it
    Great video
    Keep them coming please.

  • @colbystensland2508

I hope you are getting enough human interaction, comradery and fellowship to create a healthy sustainable environment
Thank you again for sharing your experiences and allowing us a look into your world

  • @assiebruins2545

Why did you change course for the two Japanese war ships? They came from port and have you com8ng in from starboard. Was it pleasing?

  • @davesemak

Great video, beautiful scenery. I enjoyed the trip!

  • @davedavids9619

Looks like you are thoroughly enjoying yourself. It is good to see you enthusiastic again, but this time without all the pressures of a commercial boat. Have not seen you lying in the sun in a dinghy when you were on AWOL. Now that you have embarked on your Endless Summer, perhaps there is an opportunity to get a sun tan 😀I know you are British, which means a sun tan is not for you guys, but given enough time……….perhaps you will be able to succeed in getting one.

  • @Hwyl1

I think I could tell by the tone of your voice, that the engine lights are way too bright at night. You could take a piece of red plastic to cover them all. In the short term, I have used Quality Street sweet/candy wrappers, but it would be a pain to tape them over the lights every night. I did this with a bright binnacle light, a million years ago. I thought it would be fun to change the colours every night, it was a passage charter, with a charter crew of Germans, this annoyed them and i had to change it back to red.

  • @stevetucker8630

Why pack you so close to the San Lorenzo wheh theres a hundred metres of empty wharf on the other side ?😂

  • @catherinesarah5831

🦘🇦🇺 Hard life Christian, how do you cope ? If you need someone to carry your sunglasses or a bottle of water, I’m your girl 🤣 🛟🙏

  • @johntaggart859

Excellent video…Sardinia is a great location… So interesting to see how a superyacht runs…

  • @jerrydemas2020

Captain Morlock, Through all your travels, have you or any of your crew spotted any UFOs UAPs or USO? Asking for a friend.

  • @dangordon5510

Do you have “black-out” curtains for the portholes? Sleeping with the sun blazing through is nearly impossible for me. Hello Alejandro! Entire crew looks young, maybe i am just old👴🏻

  • @LocoCoyote

a safe harbor has never made a skilled sailor.

  • @LocoCoyote

a ship is safest on shore…but that's not what it is made for…

  • @colinkulasik1128

For the English speaking (and spelling) folk out there if you're going to try to say Sicily in Italian it's pronounced "Sichilia" in English spell.

I have to give a good try where credit is due Cap😉👍. You are doing a good job with pronouncing the Italian well or correct.

I was in the French Foreign Legion and we use to have exercises in Sardenha… that could happen with other forces and countrys
