I am no Dr. but 5 people in a air pocket with water around them would not last very long. The oxygen levels would have depleted rapidly and they in turn would have excelled carbon dioxide. Any further rescue attempt would have been futile due to the depth of the sinking. As previous professional comments as to decompression and no diving bell, the poor souls were doomed.

Is it possible that the victims died suffocated and not drowned because of the effect of the air making a vacuum effect inside the cabin ? I myself experienced being breathless with a suden gust of wind, but nothing compared with this disaster.

All people of the sunken boat look totally evil. They woukd not care as long as they make another Euro or Dollar. Time was up. And why I would care what happened to them? Please explain that because there you might need not to speculate.

Darwin Awards used to be awarded to people who died doing things like this. Very easy to get seriously hurt in that situation … but drunks seem to have at least 80% of the luck with regards to these accidents.
