Soundtrack to my life….Can't wait!
Looking forward to this and Kite on a String!
Steve Lukather is hilarious and a phenomenal guitar player
Can’t wait to see this!
I hate the expression "Yacht " rock. It was called at the time "soft" rock .
This looks superb. The world needs Yacht Rock now more than ever. Only the power of really smooth music can resolve our differences.
Bill Simmons is the executive producer of this so it should be a good show. I grew up listening to all those bands, in fact Toto is one of my favorite bands of all time. Their first album had four different lead singers, and the style of music was Pop, Rock, Prog, R&B, Blues, Jazz, …. they could play any kind of music. All of the session work they did only illustrate how great of musicians they are/were. And yes, Steve Lukather is not only one of the best guitarists of all (at least according to Eddie Van Halen, who also claimed that Toto were the most talented band ever.), but he's also a very funny guy with tons of hilarious stories.
Not only is "yacht rock" a derogatory term, it's also an inaccurate one. 99% of the millions of people who listened to this music listened to it in their car or in their home. Not an a yacht.
Naming that awesome music "Yacht Rock" SUCKS! It is the best of "Soft Rock", "AOR" or "Classic Rock" but not "easy listening" made for elevators. The musicians featured in the documentary are among the best of their generation.
Fuck. Yes.
This is the “go to” place.
