Definitely way different from the original configuration that had little comfort. Military surplus was absolutely crazy after the war. Many patrol boats were converted into yachts. I've worked on several WW2 vessels. Super nice vessel. Definitely, very little of it is original, but it's a great find. I'm a huge fan of WW2 patrol boats.

My Father's step-father served with the RN on these vessels during the 39-45 War. He was involved in fast patrols and the landing/recovery of Commandos along the French Coast. He served the entire war, from Dunkirk onwards. Tragically he was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1955 after migrating to Australia in the late 40's. He only spoke of the War once, to say that the Stuka's over Dunkirk gave them a 'difficult time'. He then escorted the Atlantic Convoys before moving to the Patrol Boats later in the war. My Father only learnt of his Service History after writing to the Naval Records Department, in the 1990's. He liked to hire a row boat north of Sydney and just fish all weekend, camping along the Hawkesbury River at night. Most likely his best way of dealing with the horrors of war. In Australia Halvorson Motor Yachts were made in Sydney and used as Patrol Boats during the War. My Father said he would always eye them with envy, probably because they reminded him of this vessel. Life can be cruel.
