I do wish that all the grand homes that were located all over NYC would have NOT be demolished. All the ultra modern steel and glass skyscrapers are ugly…..

What a time to be alive as a rich. Now rich people are not building pallaces anymore. Good for society but bad for architecture cuz no one explores posibilities with unlimited resources.

Is it possible that Rockefeller Jr came up with a plan to burn down that mansion for not only the insurance, but so he could also turn it into the park that would seal his legacy in the area? Could that possibly be? So many others were doing it.
