#vg2024 #imoca #vendeeglobe #sailing

Scary situation with these icebergs. I hope they can stay clear and get through unscathed.

  • @deniskearney2368

Conrad, as icebergs do not show up well on the radar do you slow down at night when ice is around?
    The Titanic didn't!

  • @PerryQuinn-ke7dm

Great update today, thank you! Mesmerised by the icebergs – can't imagine nighttime with them around your boat.

  • @limosalimosa

On the plus side, as long as they're not submerged they're white and shiny.

I remember, when we patrolled in arctic regions and visibility was bad, we took regular seawater probes and measured their temperature. A sudden dip in temperature was a clear sign of an iceberg in the vicinity.

  • @ronjenkins4257

<sarcasm> Damned icebergs don't seem to care that the Race Instructions threaten time penalties and fines for bergs escaping the Ice Exclusion Zone. </sarcasm>.
    Be careful out there sailors.

  • @dennisrobinson4588

Thanks for the info. Carry on and Happy New Year to all. Beware of the ice cubes!

What are your thoughts on Gerry Roufs in the 1996 Vendee Globe ?

  • @TheMtotheArvin

I think your videos got to long. A daily update shouldnt be longer then 5-7 minutes imo.
A lot of your script could be shorter and it would be more entertaining if the clips from the skippers would be cuted down. If some wants to see their whole clips, you should link them up anyway.
