Agent here in the caribbean (Sint Maarten) to be specific and this is nothing ABNORMAL. this is a daily thing, either the Agent (if the yatch has one) boards the vessel on arrival and no one can depart said vessel until it is cleared!!! if no Agent then immigration themselves go on board to do the paperwork and make sure everything is as it says on said paperwork.
Only Americans think this way… what we supposed to go on our knees because its little man Bezos' yatch? we supposed to ignore the vessel because and american billionaire decides you know what Saint Barths way nicer than anywhere in america ?
Grow the hell up, we have immigration just like you have in your country, only OURS WORKS!!!!

I find it extremely interesting that crew lined up to be part of the crew on Loon. I've watched every video and it's clear the crew enjoyed their time and came across in videos with Captain Paul to have total respect for him ! It's opened up alot of opportunities for someone the crew… most crew have been with the program for many years. Suddenly a bad accident happens ( sadly) and crew were hurt which I'm sure Captain Paul would feel extremely bad about…. we all make mistakes… things we regret… these crew members made alot of $$$ with tips and wages… they worked hard and earned it ! Then suddenly the loyal crew are coming out to dam a man that's already drowning from thus accident ! A highly respected man in the industry…. one minute its the best place to work and now they are crying about how bad they were treated ! Very sad !

Only thing I can comment on from experience is a country's customs and immigration coming on board. I've been technical and EMT staff on a research ship. It was perfectly routine for my various port calls where all on board were instructed to remain on the ship until the authorities had finished with their routine. Other than routine checks of passports held by the captain, there wasn't much more to it most of the time. When there was more than passport checks they did a bow to stern inspection of the ship. These were just random selections for a ship-wide inspection, not targeted for any reason. Never had a single problem.
Heck yeah Customs should check that one out. Raid it hard!
A "raid" sells more headlines than an "inspection", as for the Loon, in a minor fender bender, most people moved on, but if the other fender belongs to a Bentley or Rolls-Royce, of course someone will have to lookout for themselves for a nice payday, because saying you're "ok" doesn't pay, it could be bodily injury or emotional damage.

8:57 shows the boat's topsides almost entirely engulfed in flames, at 9:27 I think your hope that maybe the fire was controlled before it destroyed the boat entirely might not be the case…the 9:27 picture shows the boat at an earlier stage of the fire I suspect…and no fire tenders are around. Maybe have to wait for more updates. Cheers.

If Loon is a Charter Vessel then why is the web page run by the Captain and not the owner or a company controlled by the owner? With all the conflicting reports coming out there seems to be something Fishy about the whole operation.

This incident by Loon damages the Loon brand and they need to come clean. Accidents happen but this seems to be a pretty stupid accident – something that should not have happened with a crew that is in place for customer safety. I imagine new polices and crew need to be in place.
That’s begging for a lighting strike the way things are going for these yachts
