  1. Very sad, these super rich people don't understand. Come "Doomsday " you will NOT be safe! Wherever you are. Even if build a bunker on the moon OR run to a distant planet. It's just a sales gimmick!

  2. Like it! The OSV conversion, changed deck layout to yours as I'd build aft of the Bridge to give crew a dedicated deck space. I like that you've latched onto the alloy landing craft or two, 9 to 12m with inboard jets can do shallow water , run up to shore, drop ramp, on and offload passengers for short trip, take an ATV or supplies, do the "rough, dirty stuff", be a dive or fishing platform, so versatile and can be fast and stable. Maybe look "nice" if the alloy skin is coated but why bother.
Can be configured on the fly, added seatiing and pop-on canvas top or stripped out to carry a load, have an open deck.
The limousine tenders tend to have only one purpose, suited only for a big white yacht that doesn't go very far. RIBs to me are OK for safety, rough seas, fast sports but not general purpose enough.
Just don't know if a helo justifies the space and is practical enough. $3 to 5k per hour would pay for a lot of other stuff and the deck space use could be far better utilised. If a helo is really needed, hire one from shore.
Cheers from Western Australia, big country, now a Cat 5 cyclone crossing the coast and massive flooding, fast water so an 10m alloy landing craft would be useful! Especially shallow draft, water jet propulsion to run over stuff.

  3. I agree with you on the panic room.

While it makes total sense in a normal situation where you just call and wait for support, it wouldn't make much sense in a doomsday scenario where there is probably no one who can help anyway.

In that case, your best defence would probably be to "offend" before someone can get on board your vessels.

Talking about more realistic non-dooms day scenarios, a video about anti-piracy systems and passive onboard defence would be super interesting.

  4. The point is to have enough food, fuel, ammo and medicine to wait out the riots and murders going on due to loss of power, which means loss of food because urban grocery stores are resupplied daily and without power, there will no resupply and no refrigeration.

  5. Thanks for a interesting subject 👍

That’s a boat / ship you can just buy.
They already exist and are within class standards.
If you go for a sailboat/ship for propulsion, you must consider that you need a fairly large crew, if you want a fairly large vessel.

But again, you can just buy a yacht for “survival”, in Class, right from “the shelf”.
I believe 10-15 million euros, for a average family, depending on what you want.

  6. What I have/have in mind for a "get out of dodge" yacht would be similar to the Silent Yachts 60 catamaran BUT using some of the solar technology that Sunreef is putting on their "Eco" line of yachts as well as horizontal panels on EVERY available surface. Steel hull with reinforced bows, an oversized kite-sail AND oversized fuel tanks. Minimal freshwater tanks (multiple watermakers), gray and blackwater tanks. Admit it, in a SHTF situation absolutely NOBODY is going to care if you're direct dumping your waste overboard.

  7. Prepping on the sea would just be too dangerous. But if I had to hide out on a boat, it would probably be a sailing catamaran around 50 feet, with a few people. Forget about crossing oceans. Try and find An out of away cove, somewhere up the British Columbia coast. A good fire place, and chainsaws. There will be so few people out on the water you would be safe. There would be more worries from the environment. Depending on the size of the Apocalypse you would only have to stay hidden for a few months until the Zombies die off. I think a bunker on an island would be the way to go. Really enjoyed your video.

  8. Anything that is stationary like a bunker, is not good, no flexibility, stuck in one place little options. Whereas a M/Y will keep you safe from the crazies on land, but not the crazies on the hi sea. Although the 7 seas does gives you a lot of places to 'hideaway' in the vast oceans. And finally, what about pirates? Me… Matey?

  9. Fascinating topic. I'd love to have a novelty alarm on my boat that sounds when I get out of territorial waters. Then that boat belongs to me.

  10. i'd suggest a small costal cargo vessel. they have a ton of space that can be converted into whatever you need. food production, living space, keeping animals, storage, and maintenance. a sailing rig can be retrofitted for unlimited movement leaving all that fuel in the bunkers for emergencies. there's enough space on the decks to install a massive solar array. best of all, because of the inner volume they can be sealed form the outside air if it's contaminated. they can be pretty cheep for that amount of versatility.
when it comes to something like this, the boat only has a finite amount of time in the water and if the world goes to shit i don't see a way to service the hull easily. to be honest if a boat is what someone chooses to use i'd be finding a quiet little island and prepping to either beach or find a way to dry dock her there. not an impossible task but pretty bloody close to it.

  11. Supper yachts wouldn't work. Here is what would work. If the Elites wouldn't case all of the problems. Number one reason why the yachts wouldn't work. Supper waves. A sailors biggest nightmare. The second one. All of the trash that is in the oceans. The third reason. Everything gets destroyed on land. No fuel. Only solution. Nuclear power. If the systems don't get clogged up. Sails. Nope again
Supper high winds. The largest mountain has sea fossils on the very top. Meaning. Say the oceans get that high. That's an extremely long wait for the water to go down. Again. The only solution is that the Elites knock it off and grow up.

  12. Any vessel that relies on a petroleum product to move is doomed to fail. Your best option is a 50' – 90' sailboat with your choice of rig but preferably ketch or schooner and minimum crew. Sailboats have unlimited range and choice of hull design is personal as some prefer catamarans/trimarans others monohull. For strength aluminum followed by GRP as steel is generally only used in larger vessels. Keel type is a very important consideration as stability over speed should be the deciding factor.

  13. AS RON SAYS BELOW, ANYTHING RELYING ON A FUEL SOURCED FROM LAND OR HIGH TECHNOLOGY THAT YOU CANNOT RENEW YOURSELF IS ABSOLUTELY DOOMED. WIND OR SOLAR POWER AS A PRIMARY PROPULSION SYSTEM IS A MUST. 99% OF US CANNOT AFFORD THE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR NEW YACHT. THE SIMPLER, THE BETTER BECAUSE PARTS WILL BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO GET VERY QUICKLY. AND HAVING A MILITARY-LOOKING VESSEL WILL ATTRACT EVERY OTHER ROGUE MILITARY VESSEL IN THAT AREA WHO CAN PROBABLY BLOW YOU OUT OF THE WATER IN 5 SECONDS. METHINKS THE ANSWER IS AN INNOCENT-LOOKING, NOT TOO FANCY PLEASURE VESSEL…THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE WITH A FAST ESCAPE TENDER. IN THE OLD DAYS PIRATES AND PRIVATEERS WOULD DISGUISE THEMSELVES AS CRAPPY-OLD MERCHANT VESSELS BUT HAVE HIDDEN WEAPONS THEY COULD BREAK OUT IF NECESSARY. (SEE THE "MASTER AND COMMANDER" MOVIE WHERE THEY PRETENDED TO BE STUPID FISHERMEN WHO COULDN'T SAIL STRAIGHT). YOU SHOULD HAVE A HIDDEN SHORESIDE SUPPLY-BASE/BUNKER NEARBY BECAUSE ALL VESSELS ARE SHORT ON STORAGE SPACE. YOU WANT SAIL POWER THAT A SHORT HANDED CREW CAN HANDLE. YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO GET AWAY FROM THE MAINSTREAM AREAS TO OUT-OF-THE-WAY ISLANDS THAT THE BAD GUYS DON'T CARE ABOUT…LIKE BAHAMAS OUT ISLANDS. LONG ISLAND IN THE BAHAMAS IS THE "BREADBASKET" OF THAT COUNTRY AND THEY HAVE SO MUCH FOOD THAT THEY EXPORT IT. YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO MAKE WATER, ELECTRICITY, FISH FOR FOOD AND HAVE GOOD LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY FOR SUPPLIES. 3-5 YEAR OLD USED LARGE CATAMARANS ARE THE BEST FOR THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE RELIABLE, HAVE UNLIMITED RANGE AT DECENT SPEEDS, AND EXCELLENT LOAD-CARRYING CAPACITY. I HAVE SOLD SEVERAL SAILING "DOOMSDAY CATAMARANS" AND HELPED THE OWNERS FIT THEM OUT TO BE SELF-SUFFICIENT AND WE DIDNT "BREAK THE BANK".🏴☠

  14. Anything less than a battle group surrounding an underwater oilfield with rigs, with a complement of factory ships and oilers, will be futile. There is no one-ship answer. Some state player will have aircraft, and that will ruin your plans.
