A yacht costs 10% of its price every year just for maintenance when parked at a dock…
…with some of the larger yachts holding well over $100k of diesel fuel…
..so next time you hear Leonardo Dicaprio yappin' about the environment, keep in mind that he uses one of the largest yachts multiple times per year, burning more diesel fuel on each trip he takes than a semi truck delivering your food to the grocery store burns in an entire year… and he does this multiple times per year just for the pleasure of it….

Big Boats or Yachts are a dumb flex because they truly are complete money pits. Unless you use it all the time or live on it part of the time, it is much cheaper to rent them. They are financially irresponsible to own, guys usually sell them after its been dry docked for repair and they find out the cost or they find out they have to get the hull reglassed or something…The average lobster boat around here starts at half a million and go up from there, and those are commercial boats for work…imagine what a fancy boat will run you?

10-12% of the new price per year... every year.. just to run it. Crew, maintenance, fuel, insurance, docking fees. You wanna have something to drink and eat during your trips... bring extra $$$ bcuz that's not included in the 10-12%
