If folks are balking at buying one…… just wait til you have to maintain it 😂

  • @seanogden927

I think for the money you get quite a lot of boat. Yes they are not the prettiest or largest but they don't pretend to be. They have everything you need for a great time afloat. Lovely tour Hugo thank you.

  • @tonybazz53

For not much more money the 35 makes more sense to me. I believe they will have trouble keeping up with demand as this boat works so well for many people looking for a little cottage on the water without breaking the bank.

  • @TheLoxxxton

Lovely to see the more budget end showcased. I hope we have more of the same!

  • @ashleyhodgman5246

What a great idea. Very affordable boating. Excellent video. Many thanks

  • @tuvia4082

    Nice boats, thanks for sharing.

If the captain told me he plans to chug along at 4 knots for 16 hours, I'd jump overboard and swim ashore.

  • @pistonburner6448

Rather just buy/build a pontoon platform, plonk a tent on it, and hire a few illegals to row it (only a few dozen hours per year, certainly cheaper than buying and maintaining an electric motor and battery). A few thousand quid per season.

  • @SuspectAccount

Excellent. All boating channels (and makers!) ought to be showing us more affordable options.
Bring on the affordable electric boats too. I think they ought to be upping the solar on that and doing away with the gas cooker.

That thirty-five footer really caught my eye. I enjoyed your video.

  • @DMurph-y7t

If they cracked the styling it'd be revolutionary

  • @FLGurl

This is a fantastic find, many thanks for the tours of these two vessels!

Great review Hugo. Thoughtful up to date ergnomics, that's the key word here I think these are a better bet than a used equivalent which at this price/ft price point would be 20 years old… Ideal starter boat. I think the 35 would make a superb Thames boat.

You seem to get a lot for your money. Being in the US I don't know what river side cottages go for, but vacation homes in the US can be pricey. I wonder what you could get for that money on the used market – something to ask Nick. Also, could this cross the channel and go into the mainland canal system, be interesting to take one of these from Birmingham to Prague – at least it looks that way on a map.

Great tours Hugo and very impressive weather boats for the money. I’d want the 35 to get the external driving position which is great for warm days on the Broads or other inland waterways.

  • @nicbennett6554

Idea for affordable options – why not do a tour of the brokers you shortlist for the MBY Awards. Spend a day, see the staff, facilities and plenty of boats at all price points. That’d be brilliant and very popular videos I’d imagine.

I live near the Thames, and one of these would be a fraction of the cost of any kind of home on the river. I am a sailor and sail a very old Beneteau on the south coast, but I have many friends with boats on the river. I could see myself, on the larger one, having a bit of a wine tour in France. Not me, but there are people in my part of the world who pay more for their cars than these boats. A Range Rover or a nice little river boat? No contest if I had to choose? There again, most of them have the Range Rover and the Sunseeker in Poole Harbour. Great video for us mere mortals. 😂

  • @The-Droll-and-LazyJoker

Well Hugo, you're absolutely correct. Both boats are neither the "most glamorous nor the most luxurious". But, the
Suncamper 31 and 35 offer a stylish, and well appointed boat for a family at a very reasonable… price
    Thanks for the tour, Hugo

  • @nickglossop

Great boat for the money. Less electrics means less to go wrong. Great review again Hugo.

The 31is a great starter boat for River or inland water way. She is a minimalistic boat but she does what it says on the tin.
The 35 is similar but has two heads plus a small fly bridge – gives you a nice view.
Comfortable living, for a day sail, a weekend or a week. She not glamour but she is a useful boat for a Potter around.
Hugo could either boat cope as a coastal boat? Or go further out to sea. Or do the company have a model that will do that.
    The 35,
