7. While pedantically, they may need to see the pins to confirn door was "locked" closed, pretty ste the diving footage would have given them the initial non official confirmation it was closed.
   I don't recall, but wasn't there footage of its mast being at angle? If the door is port side but mast was banked to starboard, wouldn't point to water ingress happening from starboard side?

8. Fuzzy memory, but didn't Italian Sea Group purchase the company that made Bayesian ? Was Bayesian built before or after this transaction and would the current CEO be aware of the technical aspect of the boat? Do they still have the engineers who designed this boat on staff? He may have spoken really early before having spoken to engineers who designed it and would have better knowledge of her limitations.
   I hope/assume investigators will hire engineers to study the design to gauge maximum allowable banking before water ingress, and how much wind would be required to cause mast to bank ship beyond that angle. In speaking out so early, the CEO invalidated public marketing brochures of the tech specs of the boat. The importance of this investigation becomes apparent if they need to change boat design rules.

20. I still have to comment that any reference to the port side shell door on Bayesian, is frankly ridiculous, in light of the fact that the boat went down on the starboard side. Great reporting as always, and let's hope these Italians can get clear on the fact that freak weather occurrences, can and do occur, and that there is not one damn thing that crew members even can do, that will counteract the relentless forces of nature. 23. If it turns out the yacht sank die to technical issues, even in part, i hope that italian ceo is sued for every last cent for libel. To come up with the vile comments he did before the bodies had even been recovered was absolutely despicable and should not go unpunished.

24. By the same token, if the hull door is open when the boat is recovered that could mean it was forced open by the water pressure while it was being raised.

25. Crazy it has taken so long to raise, simply begin by attaching to mast and raise to easily dove depth.

26. That mast, with all the additions attached to it, needs to be raised intact, weighed metre by metre and the leverage forces calculated. Just looking at the thing suggests considerable weight where least needed and many surfaces exposed to wind force. The photographic evidence seems fairly conclusive evidence that the door was closed. The Italian company's statements are disgraceful, reminiscent of the behaviour of the captain of the Costa Concordia.
