Finally someone that actually knows how to dock a boat. No bow thrusters or joysticks involved just a twin screw boat and a man who knows what to do!
Great video but you don't make enough money to deal with the traffic and the drunk people. It's like being a wedding DJ. dealing with people under the influence. Best Of luck and be careful.
that stresses me out just watching all the traffic
He makes it look easy. I think I’d need bow-thrusters with anything over 35ft
Lot worse ways to make money. Hell I'm running drunks around on mine all the time and costing me money. LOL
NO
You earned every penny
$100 an hour just to Captain. $50 is only $100,000 / year for Miami…..and all the other BS…..not that 50 is bad, but I bet there's not many certified Captains willing to put up with that on a holiday. Best wishes and safe travels out on the water.
I wouldn't count on tips for that day
Man, all I can think of is @AlfredMontaner should do a Special Edition Chit Show from that dock!… It would be EPIC! Keep up the good work. $400-$500 a day 4 days a week is right at $100K a year If I could sting it together here in Tampa, I would quit my day job.
😁
Almost got that 100K bro! 💪🏼😎
You should be at $90 an hour minimum plus tips!
no not worth it
I was told that the boat rental is a scam, because just exiting the Miami River, to go to the sandbars or whatever, takes the lion's share of the time paid. Perhaps it's best to charter a boat first thing in the morning – before the crowds.
Marine Stadium Chit show!! lmao!
I use to spend up to a year straight going to every island in the Bahamas then 3 months tripping through keys to Key West then shooting through Lake and do all the gulf ports to South Padree Texas then shoot to Cozumel Mexico for sailfish season. Why are you complaining about 😮

Hey Luis, that far into the river where you picked up the guest seems very busy and Crazy!! Good handling of your vessel!
When you like it more than working at the hospital. It is something else for a change and for the videos. Do you really need this money?
Tnx for sharing.
Gr from The Netherlands
Would I do that for hundreds of dollars a day ? How quick would I have to be there ?
Looks like you got a load of jungle bunnies.🤣
Miami full of flexers..
Those big wellcraft portifinos are pretty easy driving boats.
There should definitely be more an hour considering the weekend traffic
I know several seasoned captains that will not do those charters. A great way to ruin a reputation and career
Loco tu tienes un hermano que es policía que se llama Randy te pareces bastante a él, te tocaron unas locas morenas 😂😂
I would be really careful about client being that close to the helm/throttles especially when docking. Just takes a drunk trip or an elbow and it’s all bad. Also imo that money is not worth it. I would bet the insurance coverage isn’t adequate and if something happens drowning, head injury etc you will be on the hook.
How much tuna do you get?
I used to do charters 20 years ago there was a lot of money in the charter industry but of course everybody had a captain's license it was mandatory the Miami River and Miami is full of amateur captains did they call themselves captain I call it a zoo nobody has experienced nobody knows what they're doing nobody knows the rules of the road they'll cut you off off of your port side and then they wave at you and I look at them and I say what an idiot today you buy a boat to do charters you'll never get that money back I tell any Captain in Miami have you been to the Bahamas Turks and Caicos Dominican Republic Virgin Gorda Tortola St Croix St John St Maarten Waterloo Antigua Barbados South America have you ever kept in a sailboat and they all say no a sailboat captain will go in circles on a boat captain thank God I got out of the boating industry and I became a pilot way better lifestyle and way better money
Well that was different!!! Better man than me to cop the stress of all that carry on. Looks like a race to the bottom as regards the enjoyment factor unless of course your go is booze and hooch. I suppose if boat Captain is your thang then to pick up a lazy 5 spot for a day motoring about on a nice day in a half flash boat then why not? Gotta say I'm totally over the cell phone infatuation, how many of the people we saw actually were aware of their surroundings and enjoying the simple pleasure of the boat ride? Good job on the video while coping with all the moving parts getting the boat from A to B.
Little trick I use when docking while solo is to take a dock line from the midship cleat and run it back into the cockpit area. This way when you get to the dock just walk aft, grab the line from the cockpit and step on to the dock. use that line to tie the boat close to the dock tight while you get the regular mooring lines on and or set up. it avoids that oh shit moment when you slip trying to get on the bow. try it some time. you agree it is the way forward
