As eerie as the Titanic... The scene of a tragedy caused by arrogance. 113 years ago, the arrogance of seeing who could cross the Atlantic the fastest claimed more than 1,500 lives. Last year, the arrogance of seeing who had the tallest mast on their sailing yacht took the lives of eight people (and counting...) Let's hope they don't look for scapegoats to justify it...

Have you heard any conspiracy theory's that the business man that owned the yacht and the lawyer were murdered in the yacht? They had just won a big lawsuit and there was a rumor that this was a planned execution, made to look like an accident. There was no sea water found in their lungs and I can understand why but, it is rather strange. Have you heard anything,?

I still think that if the sails were down and the main boom secured on the center line toward the stern, something is very fishy about this. Have they inspected the mast stays? Maybe the mast side- stays failed on one side, causing the mast to fall and it's momentum and weight in the water pulled the hull over and down with it? The next question would be Who was on watch, and what protocols were in use? Had they been checking the satellite weather? Did they have radar on and were they checking it on the hour?

Surprised nobody is talking about the retractable keel other than to state is was retracted at time of broach. At full extension, it adds 33' of keel which goes directly to righting moment…ability to recover.

Le imbarcazioni a vela piccole o grandi che siano sono di fatto inaffondabili. L'argomento è quindi: come mai il Bayesian è avvondato in pochi minuti. Anche capovolto avrebbe potuto e dovuto galleggiare. Ma la galleggiabilità dipende sempre oggi come ieri dalla legge di Archimede. La perdita dell'assetto ed il suo mancato recupero richiede di esplorare altre argomentazioni.
