  1. 4:50 Richard Petty blue.
Petty didn't have enough blue to paint his car, but he had some white laying around, so he mixed up a new blue. The rest is history.

  2. The amount of accommodation space is crazy! Nice big salon, galley is very useable, etc. I shouldn’t watch these, it’d be double the price, if I could even get it here… I’m in 🇨🇦 lol.

  3. Thanks for the review YachtBuoy, the Dutch know how to do boats. I did four years in the U.S. Navy, four ocean transits Pacific and Atlantic, through the Panama Canal, into the Med tracking Russian aircraft and ships(I was a Radarman) and exercises with NATO vessels including the U.K. This would be the perfect boat for me if I was younger and richer!

  4. 28:24 was a definite "Oh My!" moment! While I'm sure it's very quiet (I haven't watched the entire video yet) those side panels do NOT look like they'd have sufficient sound dampening. Between that access, the easy access to the genset and the "Oh Shit" engine", any Owner Operator would have ZERO excuse for not doing their daily checks! It doesn't explicitly say it on their website but it LOOKS like the air draft is in the neighborhood of 4-4.5m which should be good for cruising the canals on the continent (or the UK) or doing the Great Loop on this side of the pond.
Looking forward to your tour/review of the E6

  5. This is now my favorite dream boat. If/When I could afford one, I'd travel across the sea to accept delivery. Then I'd go on a European coastal tour as a sea trial and machinery break-in. After that, change filters and fluids, fix anything necessary, reprovision, and cruise back to the states. That would be great.

  6. The Atlantic crossing capability is not without many additional fuel cans loaded, will she still be self righting in this configuration?

  7. Do those oil filters dump oil into the bilge and over the engine when un-screwed? Some brands make incredible solid engine designs, then the filters seemed to have been an afterthought.

  8. My wife and my dream cruising boat. Perfection from top to bottom. The galley in the perfect position low down slightly aft of centre. A seperate living and dining area where you can escape the wheelhouse and the elements. An aft wheelhouse that reduces motion in rough seas and a hull that not only self rights but works well at displacement speeds. Not to mention a stunning fitout and quality.

  9. Thanks for that video, I've always loved how Elling go about their boatbuilding. Could very happily live on that long term.

  10. Nice. In some alternate universe I’m sailing mine through the Caribbean and destiny’s child are arguing about whose turn it is to join me for drinks on that front sun deck . 🙏

  11. 11:39 Maybe an idea to use a fixed length line for the fenders, with a sort of hook at the end of the line to attach to the railing. This prevents having tot tie and untie a knot in the rope every time. The fenders hang from the same height, so saves time and hassle.

  12. The remote control for the boat could have a bright color. Easier to locate the thing both in the boat and if it falls into the water

  13. I "discovered" Elling Yachts several years ago and immediately decided they would be my yacht of choice. I am the first to admit that I am not a sailor, but I was an architectural designer before I retired, and really appreciate good/intelligent design.

I personally prefer the proportions of the bigger E6, but if someone were to give me an E4, I certainly would not complain.

You talked about the range etc at lower speeds, but it is my understanding that they also have a good turn of speed if you are wanting to cover shorter distances quickly.

  14. 14:45
I was not expecting to see
the actual full demo of the
    self-righting feature, I also
had no idea it would self-right
so quickly, I was assuming some
    long drawn out hydraulically
    operated weight transferring
    would take place.
    😎Very cool, impressive.
    –Edit;
    15:47 ''would you volunteer…?''
    I'd pay. 😄

  15. She certainly looks nice but 1500nm range, I thought that you said that it'd cross the Atlantic! No way. Could easily be altered I know but no panclamps etc. on the cooker, obviously the owner hasn't ever cooked in a heavy sea. Would like to see one more suitable for Northern Europe without all of that wasted deck space on top.

  16. This is about as perfect as one could wish for, for a couple or liveaboard, that like travel, touring, or simply pottering about.

I particularly liked that each cabin had its own escape hatch/skylight.

This is an extremely important feature on any boat, even more so on an ocean-going vessel.

I would be inclined to have a Spare Air for each person, immediately available in each cabin, together with a waterproof torch/flashlight and a compact, wearable, emergency egress kit on a belt.

The ability to take breaths and to see in pitch darkness keeps people calm and, most importantly, alive!

Having such equipment, training with it, and ensuring that guests are familiar with it can only be a good thing

With the inclusion of a watermaker/desalinator, this superb craft wouldn't be limited by anything other than onboard food supplies.

I absolutely loved the plethora of opening port lights, especially the one in the shower cubicle.

The backup engine is a serious offshore insurance, and I was astonished at just how frugal the main Volvo Penta engine is, 6 litres per hour is phenomenal.

The hull colour was a thing of beauty in itself.

Thank you for this comprehensive tour of this compact, capable, and extremely well thought out motor yacht.

I am delighted to have found your channel and to have subscribed.

  17. Seems like an absolute steal value for money wise that's possible the most best designed boat I've seen. I'd love that.

  18. Refrigeration seriously lacking! When will the designer's ever get it right with refrigeration compacity? Shower stall too small! 🥸

  19. This boat while appearing to be …, truly isn't all that. Perhaps this boat building company should think about building RV trailers and class C motorhomes! This boat is designed for coastal use at best, bay use or, island hopping. I couldn't see myself venturing far from a day or so at best from a port. 🥸
