  1. Cheer~~~this is the action of sailing in a ship or boat…..(I just got quite an interesting channel I had today. still learning contents by heart)😊

  2. Sailed an optimist several times at the ben eoin yacht club a few summers, my first day sailing we were caught up in heavy winds, at first I didn't get in a boat but instead opted to stay in the dingy. 2 other kids got absolutely scared at the waves so I had to go into the boat solo. For a few minutes, I was sailing fine, I look over to my left, Water is cascading over the port side and swamping the boat, I jump up and try to dive overboard, but the small boat capsized and I was stuck in an air pocket. I screamed for what felt like an eternity as the air pocket diminished. With how much adrenaline going to my veins I forgot that I needed to breathe, I tried to flip the boat by pushing up on one of the sides but that did nothing, I swam out from under the side, when my head popped up from the water, I saw one of the instructors jump into the water because I hadn't come out of the water yet. I got to shore shortly after and wasn't able to sail for another while until I got over my traumatization. What a fun day that was.
