I assume it's not fashionable to wear a flotation device? Being that he was alone on the vessel, that might be a good idea. If he experienced engine trouble and was drifting, it would be wise to wear one. Even if he is deceased, I would think that recovery of a body would be more likely. Sadly, this may remain a mystery.

Re Cosmos, Breakthrough, Leviathan and other 'clean' or hybrid fuel/propulsion technology yachts, are there any particular skills or specialist knowledge required to operate these vessels? Would be good to hear about the practical day-to-day from captains and engineers, in terms of the difference (if any) between these and regular diesel propulsion.

I am not a boater, but with that caveat, I assume that if a 12m yacht and a 92m cargo ship collide, during daylight on a sunny day, the fault is with the yacht. Is that right?
What if the yacht has a problem and is drifting? What are then the responsibilities?
