Hey Elayna, you have a real sparkle in your eyes in this episode. Looking very beautiful. Lenny is such a cool cat. Loved him explaining eels at the beginning of the episode. He is an old soul in a young body. Beautiful sailing guys.

My wife and I sail and cruise a Dragonfly 32 trimaran and when we equipped her with a gennaker, we made the decision to also go with a top down furler system rather than a spinnaker sock thinking it would be safer for us. So far so good but the reality check for me is that our gennaker is as big as the gennaker on a Melges 32 (a very powered up race boat typically with 8-9 crew). We have a rule on our boat that at about 12-13 knots steady wind strength, we put the gennaker away and sail downwind with either the Code Zero (bottom furler, 2/3rd the size of the gennaker) or just the jib barber hauled. I can relate to the furl/unfurl anxiety of a large gennaker. It’s like a sprint when I furl the gennaker because I pull on the furling line for probably 30-45 seconds before we see the top of the sail start to furl on the torque cable. Fun stuff!

BTW I think the wave piercing bow on the leeward float was doing its job exactly as intended.
