So, I'll add this comment in defense of their little 'vestibule' between deck and cabin.....we sailed in the Royal Suite on Seascape this month. The winds were up due to the hurricane (hundreds of miles away). I literally could not get our balcony door shut without using the emergency switch (which I believe overrides the safety mechanisms that will stop the door from shutting if it feels resistance). We had things flying all over the room in the short time the door was left open. I appreciate your overview as we'll have that cabin on one of her last upcoming sailings. It may not be as ideal as the Royal was, but we will appreciate the extra space compared to the normal cabins in YC.

Yes, we really do love the ship, but we had similar concerns with our room as you mentioned. We were actually right next to your cabin and experienced the same issues. It definitely feels like the space is due for a dry dock refurbishment. For example, the tub and its wooden panels look worn and outdated, and the carpeting on the staircases is in need of replacement.
Upstairs, the bathtub setup isn’t ideal—when showering, water escapes through the glass panel, leaving the floor wet, and the water pressure is quite low. Because of that, we mostly used the downstairs shower, which had a great rainfall-style head that we preferred. The cabin also felt a bit dark overall, mostly due to the burgundy carpeting giving it a heavier tone.
So while the experience was good, it didn’t quite reach “great.” We think it’s time for MSC to refresh these suites with updated fixtures, brighter decor, and better outlet options.
That said, we absolutely loved the Yacht Club area and the hospitality—it was fantastic. The staff and entertainers at the courtyard created such a fun vibe, and the buffet by the pool had really good food. Overall, we had a wonderful time. For our next sailing on the Meraviglia, we’ve actually booked the Royal Suite. This time we’re going all out—enjoying life while we can!
