  1. Hi Jakob, congratulations 🎉 for your arrival in the canaries 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Your videos are great. If you are still around here, my wife and I live aboard our Black Pearl⛵🏴‍☠️⚓in Garachico Harbour in Tenerife, would be great to see you and have a chat. We also have plans to sail far, but been stuck these last few years…oh well all will come 🙏🏻 Regards sail safe and enjoy 🌎❤️

  2. You're doing well Jakob………keep using your safety line 100%. crew food….simple bread making, flour, sugar, a little salt and dried yeast. Lots of simple bread recipes on Youtube. You'll appreciate making your own bread on a longer passage. Good you have radar…..don't assume all vessels have AIS.

  3. Jakob. Keep your chin up. We may be strangers to you but we are all out here thinking of you often and cheering you on. When you feel down think of us and how we love following what you are doing. I hope you get some cheer from knowing where out here willing you on. ❤❤

  4. Well done! I have just watched the show Alone where people try to survive as long as possible alone in the wilderness. Some experience what you did, feeling low after a couple of days because they are alone. Some even go home although they have food and shelter. Stay strong and think about that you are living a dream. You will not be alone at anchorages and docks. Go go go.

  5. Respect man. You have a great state of mind. And the low points are there to learn about your self. I have done that passage as well and i know how it feels. But like you said, just accept what ever is. Just go with the flow. Don't resist anything and just breathe and be.

  6. Sehr cool zu sehen wie du es allein da runter machst! Das lässt mich hoffen, dass ich auch bald unterwegs bin. Nach 4 Jahren wird es auch Zeit 😀 Dein content ist super! Tolle Kamera Perspektiven! Macht Spaß sich das anzuschauen! 🤙

  7. About those pancakes, Jakob…just make Kaiserschmarrn! Seriously, though, I look forward to your reports about your progress. It's late, and I should get to bed, but I want to finish watching your report! It's just my nature to say on the one hand, congratulations on your hard work bringing these results so far, but I wish you had a sailing partner in case you fall ill or get injured or just need to rest. Or even someone to talk with for your sanity. Best wishes from someone who is far from a coastline.

  8. Its a great video Jakob. I understand that you are heading down to Brazil or so to go rounbd the Horn. May be you go throu the Magellan instead, I dont know. Anyway its an unusual way. Most of sailors go to the Caribean after the Canarian islands. It will be very interesting to follow you around the globe. I have seen all your videos so far. You are very good at your sailing and you make very see worthy videos. Thank you and have a good time.

  9. Great to see this leg of your journey. It's good that you include the low points, shows you are human and that it isn't always the best fun all the way. Good luck with preparation for the next leg. 👍⛵

  10. Heaving to and getting sleep is always a good idea. Getting over tired can be extremely dangerous. It is a marathon. Really enjoying watching and coming along virtually for your journey.

  11. Hey Jacob, I'm currently sailing from Hamburg to the Carribean with my friends and I'm the skipper and I have the same problem that I'm always worrying about anything breaking on the boat….. so annoying

  12. As usual, great video Jacob. Thanks for sharing. For the boom preventer, you may want to attach the line as forward as possible in order to be more effective. Best all the way to the bow. And those ear buds……not a healthy thing to be honest 🙄 I always feel sorry seeing mostly young people using them. But it is of course your choice 😊

  13. I have binge-watched all your episodes. They are delightful. You have one issue you have to address. You have had frequent problems with VHF transmission, and other boats have had difficulty detecting your AIS signal. You have not addressed this very critical issue, mainly because you can receive AIS and VHF, particularly when the boat is close. I strongly recommend that, as a licensed radio operator, you should test and check your SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) during transmission. It's not uncommon for VHF cables and connectors to corrode in an installation. This is mostly observed when transmitting high power, and not in receive mode. You must correct this before going out on the long Atlantic voyage.

  14. What you're doing is very brave, and you're so young. What experience do you have leading up to such a journey? Congratulations, and thanks for sharing. ; )

  15. Sorry to ask you! But why are you sleeping on the worst place for that under way? Noisy and bumpy at the V berth. Also, in my humble opinion, using earbuds while sleeping is a BIG mistake. And no lifevest. It doesn't matter if the sea is calm. Music is extremely important. But you should never use something that doesn't allow you to listen to all the sounds on the boat. If you are planning to come to Cape Verde Island, I will be glad to show you my island. Fair winds

  16. Jakob I am old lady who loves the sea. I just wanted to say find a way to ease your mental worrying daily. Doesn't matter if its singing or breath work find something that works for you. You are doing awesome! hold the excitement of the unknown because you will always meet the most wonderful people as you circumnavigate the world.
I also wanted you to know I never comment but I felt so compelled to comment on the videography work you do. It is excellent! There is a fresh angle seeing it all from you eyes and believe me I see a lot of sailing videos.
