Slightly off topic but in the railways, the union still requires a "fireman" on board to shovel the coal, even though there hasn't been a coal driven train in decades. He just sits there, along for the ride collecting a paycheck!

Back in the late 1970’s my parents lived on a Pearson 365 ketch. We were in the Straights of Juan De Fuca near Victoria BC. No wind and motoring against a 5 knot current/tide when the end of the bell housing blew off the heat exchanger. So instead of circulating sea water around the diesel engine to cool it, it was pumping it right into the bilge. Every time we’d fix the bell housing it would blow right off again. Current was taking us toward the rocks and my dad made a Mayday call on the marine radio. Within 10 minutes we could see two Coast Guard fast movers speeding our way. They got to us in the nick of time and pulled us to the nearest harbor. My dad was retired career Army E9 (Command Sergeant Major) so he made a good impression on them but when our vessel was secure they stated (not asked) that they would be coming aboard to do an inspection. My dad cooperated fully and when they saw that everything was in order (not to mention immaculate) they became much less about business and much more personable. They even shared local information and gave us some great suggestions for some places to explore.
Turns out that when the engine block had been cast there was some slag left in the water jacket that eventually made its way to a spot where it choked the flow of water and created enough back pressure to blow the rubber cap off the bell housing. It was a near disaster that ended up fine, thanks to the Canadian Coast Guard.

Your fuel issue, change the hoses, there probably old and dried out. May have cracks in them , use better clamps. Use the same type they use on airplanes and fuel injection system.
Old style clamps are the shits.
Oh, and get some better tools,lol
Plumber wrench is not a tool to be used on hose clamps. How many times did they slip and bite you?lol

I’m unfortunately not in a position to support this channel financially (or any other channel for that matter). I can assure you Bobby that’s the case and if this changes you’ll be sure to know. What I would like to comment on is the “hype video” that appeared recently on YouTube. I understand how that works, I think, but I don’t see many subscribers taking advantage of this to support an episode. Can anyone tell me if I’ve misunderstood this or if I’m missing something?
