The mens changeroom had beautiful wicker lockers, a staffed bar, a pool table, sauna, hot tub. The women's change room, a couch, a toilet, a sink and it was a dirt path to get there.

all the players were very polite, helpful, and treated the girls nicely as gentlemen do. It's just the way it was. Rich men ran things, I started off caddying, and caddyed for ladies, you could make about 7 or 8 dollars in a afternoon. They bought you lunch...hot dog and a coke.

Here in the US, private golf courses were some of the last places to allow Jews and Blacks to join. Years ago were there sectarian based bans in Ireland? Catholics not allowed to join Protestant clubs, Protestants not allowed to join Catholic clubs??

The term "business girl" to the modern ear sounds so outdated and I hate any female over the age is 20 being referred to as a girl
