2. How about trying something like plastic tubing or hose as then it would be a rounded edge and your device would roll over it.

4. Right, my two bobs worth on the cook hook. Think you need a little downward pressure on the slide just as the cook hook wants to enter the soft shakle. Think Brian or Kazza would explain what I mean. I think the slide chases the hook.

6. Looking at that hook situation, I think maybe a dyneema loop or soft shackle with small plastic or wood parrel beads strung on it might work. It'll hold a more circular shape, and the hook should go thru there easier, rolling on the beads.

Boat life seems like it would be very busy. I'm the sole caretaker of our household since Mandy's surgery/disability 10 years ago. 12. That Cook Hook looks great. I think the problem lies with the soft shackle. If you add a stiffener in the shackle (maybe it would be semi soft?) oriented cross-ways it would hold the loop open so the hook could get through. You can see in your video that as the tension in the halyard gets higher it stretches out the loop in the soft shackle.

30. Include in the middle a thick wire, or a wire with springy properties open at the small side a tiny bit, in your SOFTSHAKL to spread the opening. It probably depends on the force exerted from the other part.

35. 6:22 IDK if you end up doing this, but it looks like if you had a standard d-ring shackle of some kind, it should work first try every time, instead of the soft shackle.

36. For the "Cook Hook"©®™ looks like the sail being pulled towards the mast puts tension on the soft shackle causing it to pinch closed.
    Seems like it just needs some strength to hold it open for the "C-Hook"©®™ to be able to pass through.

    A simple solution would be to take a section of abs pipe (either 1.5" drain or 1" sprinkler line) heat it up and bend it into a "U" shape to give it some rigidity while still allowing the lines and block to slide. Then feed the soft shackle through.

    Basically trying to replicate a cable eyelet (aka end loop thimble) but in plastic.

    Another (more involved) solution would be to feed a metal rod inside of the soft shackle.

    A more expensive but elegant solution would be to buy a snatch block pulley (aka recovery ring) that is designed to work with soft shackles (made for off-road vehicles while winching, looks like a donut).

38. you could try wheels on the outside of your creation just a little bigger. when it hits the shackle the wheels should roll it though

39. I love to freeze my fruit and have it ready for smoothies! Try wrapping some individually/single servings, like a couple pieces in saran wrap or the likes, and then put all those in a big baggie so you can just reach in and grab enough out for 2 smoothies without having to bust a piece off the whole big chunk.

40. If you wrap the tops of the bananas with plastic wrap, they will last a lot longer.
