Canada constantly shoots themselves by being aggressive when there is no need to and so sloppy when just unspectacular and clean manoeuvres are required.
truely shite music…
Love it😊
“Like having Eeyore on the back of the boat.” Comment of the weekend.🤣
🤜🏆🤛….. 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺🌏
Canada's performance in race 6 is no real surprise for me. I've seen it time and again where Canada has a great start and then they choke and throw it away.
epic
That "We are sail GP" intro is awful.
SGP should have a spare hull, so when a team has major repairs, they can then take their sails and plug ins and their back in the race.. if you haven't guessed it, I'm a Kiwi and I love SGP, but when your team is in the com's box, the enthusiasm tends to wain a bit.. Surely SGP have got a bit of pocket change to cover that. ⛵🇳🇿⛵
Heavyweights?
There's only one 🇭🇲🦘💪🥇
That was awesome. So good to see lovely strong winds and a beautiful course. Go Flying Roos!
Commentators are driving me crazy. They don't describe some of the close action at the rounding marks or the reason for some of the penalties because they have some script about stats and and overall standings that they feel they have to get in. Describe live play by play, pleeeeze, and less yammering!
Bermuda is indeed Bermudaful as ever. What a great weekend of racing, bravo Australia!
What has happened to GBR they are late to every start
Congrats to Australia! Well done and great event. 😎
could you imagine if the USA team could actually sail for two days? be awesome to see but l think it's a fantasy.
Use knots not bloody kph
GBR lucky to scrape a 4th after a really below average weekend. Awful starts, and poor overtaking during the race. Looking forward to seeing them find their MOJO again 💪🏻
Fantastic racing, great visuals, shame about the commentary which spoils it!
Wil someone please buy Dylan Fletcher a new watch then he might actually get to the start line on time .Well done the Roo's
Going out of bounds should be 2 forced tacks not this stupid 20m thing
I find the commentator with his over dramatizing and over exited voice really annoying.
What has happened with team Kiwi??
Why not say the wind is shifting Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise, 'right' will be confusing for many of us.
Can you solve this Catchphrase dingbat? "nalyD" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (its Dylan going backwards)
What is the issue with the US boat. He gets a hole shot on one race and he's #9 on the final????
I will commend the use of a split-screen / insert for the finish of the second race of the day. Thank you @SailGP for implementing that broadcast improvement. However, the broadcast overall still begs for improvement. Race one of the day is nearly impossible to watch develop, with the broadcast dominated by close-up footage of individual boats and very little far-out footage. As a sailor watching, I really want to be able to watch the race develop in addition to the close up action. One way to achieve this, now that the insert / split-screen feature has been found, is to utilize that more often. When showing close-up footage, please keep an overhead shot visible. And vice versa, mix it u, at other times when showing overhead footage add in inserts with close-up footage of interesting race moments.
Also, broadcast the starts! Race two we begin to get footage of the start with ~45 seconds to go. At one minute we are still seeing an advertisement and then the silgp stock piece. Begin showing the starts at a minimum of 1:30 to the start and work with the announcers on their commentary so that they can be of interest to sailors, non-sailors, a broader range of viewers. Educate and highlight what is going on. Too much "hype hype hype", inside commentary, and lack of connection to what is developing on the screen and on the water.
tldr – There is so much room for improvement!
