  1. Ever since I saw the episode of Nate and Kara where they spent some time on one of your boats I've been fascinated by what you've built. Not only a beautiful boat but probably the most eco friendly boat on the market too.

  2. i love the concept – and i love the brand – but it could be an idea to build a smaller boat without that luxury approach – more for traveling and living on board for a couple and two kids. – the starting price is currently 55 for 2.2 million euros – maybe if you can catch up on the scale to 500,000 – then you will reach the "normal" people – just an idea for your company maybe with builing a nother brand…- … but I know .. there are enough customers who pay more – and want bigger boats – but maybe heike or michael think to the little people with small purchases with the whish to travel the world with solar power – your brand and your idea …

  3. I plan on getting the silent 80 trideck with the masters suite enclosed, in one to two years. I watch every update. Buying any other yacht now makes no sense to me.

  4. to say I'm OBSESSED with these yachts is a total understatement! Making the plan and going to make it happen… going from houselife to vanlife to boatlife! YES!! And as a vegan, I LOVE how these boats have no emissions, are silent and therefore have minimal disruption to marine life, and I'm also planning on where I'll build my on-board garden to grow food too. We certainly won't be fishing and taking any creatures from their home!! 😉

  5. I love these boats and I think they have a place in the market which they are proving but when they claim that yachts have a problem that wind is not always around, wind is far more reliable than the sun and you can see this by the Atlantic crossing time of the solar + diesel powered silent yacht crossing time vs almost any sailing boats time wind only. These boats are not replacing sail boats they are a solution to consider against a motor boat. Sailing is so much more fun than this and much faster over long distances. The market is not for sailors wanting to solve the no wind problem they are for power boat owners who don't need to go fast or long distances like an island hopper. this would suck to go around the world at 4 knots on solar only hence why 99,99% of blue water sailors are in sail boats not solar or power boats. hence why they have wind farms on the ocean not solar farms. but the idea is great just focus on the right problems you solve its not a sail boat wind issue that is for sure.

  6. Luxury is not evil, but we need to also love on this planet. I believe these yachts are even better than Tesla and maybe we will see Silent Solar Cars and planes someday (actually they are here). Excited to see Silent Yachts grow. Looking forward to a Tri deck 120 soon😉

  7. It would be nice to get some real live aboard footage of one of the silent yachts. All I could find is Silent Yacht 55 anchored in Mallorca or 10 minute cruises around the anchorage. Pls don't get me wrong, I highly respect Silent Yachts achievements! Still, it would be nice to see if the product stands real worlds tasks.

  8. Dreaming of the day when solar panels can be incorporated into actual sail panels for the best of both worlds- wind and sun. The range would be limitless. Also would love to see panels that could be shaped to the contours of the yachts for more surface area.

These guys are really on to something here and I think there are endless opportunities to continue to innovate and refine the design. I hope they continue their obvious passion for this as we all benefit from their vision.

  9. You make me start dreaming again thank you!,!
My dream is one day to own a SILENT YACHT and live there the rest of my life over the sea..Thank you for creating such a masterpiece ❤️

  10. Perhaps you could use a SWATH hull with hydraulic struts to eliminate seasickness once and for all. It would be a great selling point since most people get queasy relatively easy.

  11. An idea… Micheal and Hyka To optimise the use of a wing sail ..
Theres one problematic circumstance using a kite sail…and a solution i can see in using a helium or hydrogen filled kite aerofoil being useful. That's if you are using it as a sail replacement on a boat ⛵if it displaces enough to remain bouyant in still air … It will stay up in intermittent winds till the wind speed picks up and aerodynamic lift can take over and start moving the vessel …
Otherwise you have to use a longer stub mast to stop it dropping into the sea and or if still moving you risk getting it snagged or pulled under the hull. With a wind only kite you have to take it down to mast hight or stow it each time the wind drops or in light airs.

It particularly suits Cats. and Trimarans …and as an alternative or assist to E powered vessels like the Silent yatchs on passage making and at night. Where you dont want the problems of constant kite handling on long passages and the risks at night especially as thats the optimal time to have a sail deployed 😉

    NB:
The gas containing components of the wing sail would have to have mylar linings or bladders.. as the structural material of the kites wouldnt retain either of the lifting gasses..and helium is a strategic resource that has to be mined..
Because of the small amount and remote deployment hydrogen filled ballonets would be cheaper and pretty safe .. as well as being renewable it has a greater lift capacity per cubic meter.👍🏻⛵
I have a long interest in LTA/ hybrid technology and Amphibious aircraft.

  12. @Silent-Yachts
Auf welchem Viedeo sieht man das Segel im Einsatz, sowie aus- und einfahrend?
Am optimalsten bei Tag, Dämmerung und Abend.

  13. So you all know oil still produces these machines,,, and the toxicity of the batteries in this are multiple fold of what a diesel propelled cat would expel in its lifetime… Same BS with a Tesla car… Heck ya its awesome they run on the sun, but they're no less toxic to produce and even more so to retire… cool concept, not the answer…

  14. I can't wait to one day own one of these awesome yachts, and 'sail' it anywhere possible. I'm not sure my wife will be so keen though, as she's definitely not keen to be on a boat in any kind of swell, but I'll get her to try it at least 🙂
Being able to be energy self-sufficient while still having all the little luxuries, and living on a really nice boat, well I can't think of many better ways to spend ones days.
I look forward to more innovation and technological advancements from the team…

  15. I think you guys are the coolest and I want a 60ft (or even 100ft) Silent Yacht. I think you are blazing the trail for everyone else and I hope others start to compete with you! The idea of owning a fully gas/diesel motoryacht now sounds downright barbaric.

  16. I'm a big fan silent yachts, not of VW though.
They cheated for years and colluded with the other German luxury brands to maximise profit, screw over the planet and people's health in the short and long run.

I believe in your mission, I want a cleaner planet with less pollution, I'm never going to buy anything VW, Audi, Mercedes or BMW as they have all shown their true colors.

A former VW guy saying it's like the car industry makes me want to stay away, he then talks about how it's not just electrification. He stood in the way of electrification for many years and colluded and cheated to make money instead of trying to do something good for the climate and people's health.

Maybe this is the right business decision for the company, but I don't think it's ethically correct to let a vulture that prayed on suffering to get his claws in on something trying to heal the wounded. I was going to buy a silent yacht, might still do so, but I don't want any boat or anything for that matter have anything to do with VW or the morally corrupt people who were responsible for the crimes against humanity.

I understand that your position might make this the most logical choose and I'm not trying to convince you to invent a time machine, what's done is done. What I'm trying to do is, make clear that your reputation was spotless and great before, you might have tainted it in the eyes of many.

  17. I paused this video, and now have successfully started a fund, saving for this yacht and want to get one of them. Hopefully I can do full time traveling on this.

  18. The only people slowing down the solar powered yacht are rich morons who want to burn ridiculous amounts of fuel to get from point A to B twice as fast. These solar beauties are far cooler.

  19. You can call yourself Tesla of the sea, if you’re market is only the rich, this has to be affordable to the working class, I can afford a Tesla cyber truck but can I afford a silent Yacht? This was the whole concept behind Volkswagens industries to make vehicles available to the masses. Will you be able to make boats completely self-sufficient available to the working class? The proletariat, not just the bourgeoisie or the elitist?

  20. Very cool…but keep in mind, tesla batteries are very expensive to replace. For example, to replace the tesla 3 batteries cost around $22,000.0… I couldn't imagine what these may cost to replace.

  21. Solar energy is God given free stuff to all . Thank you to the Lord and the best wishes to silent yacht !!! I want mine to be in a more compact size of around 45 feet, please !!! ❤️❤️❤️

  22. Next company that very quick saw the money in their eyes from i think 45 and 55 very quickly went to 65 and 80 for big bucks multimillion customers. I heard this couple used to travel on old catamaran and come up with this idea them self's was so happy to think maybe this time there will be company for families with kids some nice project that can afford someone less then multimillion accounts very fast they change from smaller catamarans to huge once so once more family like. Mine with two kids will never afford their yacht
Wish to buy some think like 55 or even 45 small i of to be i of cheap for average wealthy person that can travel around the world but now forget about it we very happy to sell but only for very rich people
Can you please consider building smaller cheaper yacht not 4,5 milion euro
But more like 1mln euro maybe or at least explain to us "sorry this is impossible" I dream about spending my retire life on silent yacht unfortunately I will never be able to afford it so it will be just a dream

  23. I do not own a boat or have the means of doing so but if I did this would be the boat I would pursue absolutely beautiful a knockout i’m incredibly impressed would love to take a ride on one of these

  24. SO wait, you say "not meant to sail oceans or the world with our yachts", yet your site literally has plastered all over it: "unlimited range" and "ocean crossing capabilities." Resolve the conflict, or make them so they ARE meant to sail oceans AND around the world. At those prices they should be able.

  25. What if it sails on the winter sea? With less sun will it affect the power generated? Can you add a small wind turbine to add more power during winter ?

  26. What I think a lot of us would love to see is more footage of various Silent Yachts out in the wild. What's it like in rough water? How do the glass panels handle a direct it by a big wave? User feedback on piloting it, docking it, and day to day living on it. Actual performance information from real world experience. Stuff like that.

  27. Looks so great. But any plans for a smaller more affordable version? Because yeah so many of us can afford the 3 million price tag. Everybody keeps complaining the world should go electric, yet there is never an affordable electric option. How about a Silent 40/45 that more people could actually afford? I suspect you'd sell a ton in a more affordable price range.
