For everything mentioned in the video (plus other 'stuff'): https://linktr.ee/john_johnson
I really enjoyed this video. I would have not picked out this boat as the ocean crosser it is. Has the Starlink taken over for the big satellite domes. I see them on the big boats. Or are they for different uses. Thank you.
John, it would be nice to have a demo of how those remote Yacht Controllers work while docking. I've only ever had wing and stern controls.
amazing boat
Quite an utilitarian design, not everyone's cup of tea but I like it! I'd like to see a sea trial in some heavy seas! She looks like she can take it! Sort of downeaster styling.thanks John for the tour!
Did I miss the main engine room?
Ahhhh there's the engine!
I really enjoyed this video! What a beautiful and capable yacht! I wonder if they will make them in future with basalt fiber…even more rugged.
Anyone else think she looks like Stingray? I was expecting Marina to swim past the window…… I think it's the lines of the side windows that do it
I really like this boat, not sure how much noise the engin produces or how you service it without damage to the kitchen.
I would change some of the surfaces materials, add a dedicated seabob space with charger. overall a beautifully boat
From the beginning I liked the concept of Elling. Later on, the yard expended and more models arrived on the market. So far so good.
Kevlar is the Dupont name for a high strength fabric thatwas originally created for use in car- and trucktyres as replacement for the steel girth. Experience learned that it could be used for some other applications like bulletproof vests, fireproof clothing and so on.
In 1988 Dufour started with the same slogan that the hulls of their sailing yachts were 'Kevlar reinforced'. Till the factory learned (the wrong way) that Kevlar and the commonly used matrix materials like Vinylester and Epoxy did not hold on Kevlar and that delamination in the manufactured hulls became a problem. What happened after that discovery that combinations of glassfiber or carbonfiber mixed with Kevlar was a better proposition and solution. The rest speaks for itself.
The Elling E6 is a beautiful ship
Things I like: Kevlar reinforced hull, self-righting (!!!), Volvo D13 shaft drive, Volvo D4 shaft drive (no sail drives), fuel capacity, 18-20 knot high speed when you need it, helm station, Williams tender & garage, belts & braces tech areas, plus overall aesthetic. Things I like less: stern access to lazaretto & equipment (dodgy/unsafe access in a seaway), cramped engine room & very limited access to shaft for servicing/repairs, plus, not sure how the main engine could ever be removed for major overhaul as it seems the boat was built around it. Still, very nice.
It's great to finally see a video that shows the engine access open. Thank you John. I would eliminate the tender garage in favour of a technical space that is more accesible. Unless you're a very small person, getting into the port and starboard technical spaces to complete service would be a challenge. Beautfiul, capable boat.
This is the dream
Very nice yacht. I would close the engine with a glass window so you can see it…but I'm a motor nerd😂.
Thanks for showing us the yacht.👍
Great boat, but needs a styling update.
Lil bro couldn’t wait to tell the world he’s 6’4
Very nice👍👍👍👍
🤩🤩🤩🤩
Cómodo, espacioso y funcional❤😊
Love everything about this vessel, except the single engine and engine location . A vessel this big needs its own engine room and twin engines. Not a 75 hp limp home engine. Wonder how many forward knots you can make in rough seas with a 75hp engine? Will it keep me off the rocks in gail force winds if the main engine takes a dump? PS like your videos, but think they should start with engine room and technical specs. I really don’t care about the galley or owner’s suite. lol.
If it's not twin screw it's still a coastal cruiser
This is a stunning yacht john one of my favourite all time Elling yachts the E6! Great tour and Drone footage as usual John thanks for showing us around this stunning boat.
