Rory Sutherland explică de ce aeronavele au depășit odată elicopterele ca simbol al statutului, arătând bogăția prin timp liber, mai degrabă decât prin viteză. I think he is wrong about helicopters. At least back then in 1950s, 1960s and 1970s when businessmen were in their 50s, looked like in their 70s due to excessive drinking and smoking, but wanted to project a very decisive, virile, action-man persona. To have a helicopter ride would strengthen the dynamic, decisive, manly image they were after.
Time-poor is going to stick with me.
Air ships need to make a comeback.
He's now talking out of his behind. Helicopters are quite expensive to own and maintain. But a cruise ship vacation shows that you have a lot of time, but it can be economically not so expensive.
If you're the boss of your own time, and have a lot of money, then it tracks. Otherwise, even Elon Musk does work for a living, extremely expensive though it may be !
Helicopters are not dangerous.
What I don't understand is, airship, with a storm or a hurricane.
This dude's takes are absolute dog shit.
they might be poor status markers, but I guarantee the rich use them like we use paper towels.
PBY Catalina not Stratofortress
Rory struggles with considering the concept of a flying boat existing for 45 seconds, while clearly knowing nothing about aviation history. The ‘air yacht’ was more of a concept pre-ww2, and it was a largely legitimate business opportunity at the time, not some fanciful crazed idea that Rory makes it out to be. Ww2 spurred a large number of Airports to be constructed. If history had been different, seaplanes might have had a much longer history and even be more present in the modern era. It’s so funny watching someone blather and make up crap about something you’ve actually learned about.
"Something like Stratofortress that I think could land on water". I used 'I thinks' and 'something likes' in my first job interview at a nuclear research plant after graduation. I didn't get hired. I don't understand.
Was that a air Yacht in the movie – Aviator Leonardo DiCaprio ?

What is this guys name? Anyone please?
Is there anything this guy doesn’t know 😅🤷🏻♂️
Air yacht – now that's a status symbol – want one.
He so smart, he should look into nutrition
You know… it’s a good point, if you want to show off how amazingly rich, have something like a Air ship, but a flying yacht oh, that would be something wouldn’t it
Kind of a dumb argument about time poor. By that logic the rich would be going around on luxurious modernized horse carriages. See how time rich we are!
So private jets aren’t good either?
WW2 Stratofortresse yachts which could land on water? That's all checks out ….
EVERYONE is time poor.
