Folosim tehnologie nouă cu un router CNC portabil pentru a tăia ramele și a obține măsurători exacte. Și această mașină este uimitoare! 1. This is wonderful! So looking forward to this build.

There's a possibility that you screwed the mold to the table without showing it but if you didn't i would suggest putting at least a temporary spreader at the top so that it does not want to spring open or closed when the cutting releases whatever tension the plywood holds.
Also, I'm wondering if the navigation tape could be reproduced onto a large vinyl type sheet that could be locally printed to speed up the tedious taping process.
And finally, could the router also be used to spot mark important mold positions such as water line ect?

    Cheers!

  2. Congratulations friend, excellent choice, the machine looks amazing, I'm in Brazil, here there is a CNC router, but not that type there yet. I'm building my little sailboat inside my apartment, then I'll set up the riding ring and close the hull, success for us, good winds 🙂

  3. I had the same problem and 3d cutting was too expensive. A friend parted the drawings to printable pieces and we made additional marks for measure controlling. The we printed everything out, put the drawings on the plywood and saw with a jigsaw. Cheap and easy, not confirm to Millimeter, but near. We also designed Wholes for laser lining, to control straight uplining the construction.

  4. This is a phenomenal tool. I’ve seen them in videos but had no idea it could do this type of work and be so accurate. It really will be so much use in the whole build and IMO much better than a gantry style CNC. Great progress. Andy UK

  5. After you build the boat, maybe you can sell those pieces to another builder, and possibly get the hours back making them. You are an impressive person!

  6. I'm having a flashback to when I was 8 years old in 1972 and my father was laying out the stations for the 55 ft samson design ferro cement boat he built in our barn in BC. Identical method but certainly not so high tech. My hats off to your incredible work ethic.

  7. Would be awesome if you could share you're experience with the router after you haved used it for a while. I'm looking at this machine for a while now and still can't decide to get it or not.

  8. Broadly speaking, there are two genres of Youtube I watch. Sailing and woodworking. So when Johan pulled out the shaper origin I laughed out loud. It's happening!

  9. Hi again, some thing to read about , it's about a Big Air plane that made out of wood, Spruce Goose world biggest air plane they say yes it built out of birch and not spruce , Hughes H4 Hercules Birch is specifically Duramold a wood lamination process that makes strong plywood , I've seen this plane the wing span is 320 ft and it flex its wings only a few inches every year , check it out Evergreen Aviation in Mc Minnviville, Oregon it's very interesting how wood hold up with all this weight enjoy a good read if you want.

  10. That's a ridiculous price last time o I bought plywood was $28 a sheet she granted that was a couple of years ago but it shouldn't have gone up that much that fast

  11. It was exciting to see that smart milling machine in the hands of a smart and experienced carpenter. 😉
Det var spännande att se den smarta fräsmaskinen i händerna på en smart och erfaren snickare. 🙂

  12. "We can't give You a date, and prices were talked once You come fetching the loot" It's 2022. The bell for "last order!" rang already some time in March. Since then, everything in Europe is sheer anarchy, buccaneering and coercion when it comes to supplies and prices, no matter which industry. Fingers crossed You get everything You need for the build in time and for halfway reasonable prices.

  13. I'm looking forward to following the build and specifically the results the CNC router provide. This was an excellent introduction. And, I hope the manufacture gets on board soon as a major sponsor of your project. I can't think of better team to demo this game changer than you, Malin and Vera <grin>. Can't wait for the next episode.

  14. The Shaper Origin looks like a great fit for the work you are doing. I'm curious, how long did it take for the Origin to cut the frame?

  15. Hi, Well done, and the way your present your film clips is great and easy to follow. As an engineer myself and like working with wood, that router looks fantastic and from the view of the finished frame the curves look good with no bumps or humps. Looking forward to following the rest of your build. Cheers Ian – New Zealand
