The beauty of a monohull is that headroom increases as the heel angle increases.
Great episode! Notice you were leaving the tags on all the tools…lol. And glad you got upgraded to a full-size truck for this first, solo, long haul–will be a less stressful experience with the larger towing capacity. The extra gas money will be well worth that.
Congratulations on the purchase of your new vessel AND for finally becoming fluent in pronouncing "trailerable trimaran" (it's definitely a tongue twister). Touche!
Exciting! Onwards to another adventure! Can't wait!
Robert's your mother's brother.😁
Brilliant… well done – what a wonderful score. She looks fantastic. That is what you should call her 'Fantastic'….
This video reminds me so much of the day I collected my Farrier and set off driving down the east coast of Australia. You will love it. Oh, and by the way, in some Commonwealth countries they say “Robert is your father’s brother.”
I didn't know it was possible to buy a truck without a trailer hitch receiver.
you guys are a blast the thing in life dream it it will come
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Oh my gosh, when I saw this video come up in my feed I was so excited I couldn’t sit still. I am so happy for you guys! Looks like a really nice boat that I know you will make into a GREAT boat! Now I can’t wait for the first sail. 😂👍⛵️
Congratulations. Finally the new boat!!! You have been teasing for so long. Can’t wait to see how you make her your own. PLEASE weekly updates!!
Wait did you tow it off the bumper😮
That thing will fly…looks like the builders did a good job with the wood strips laminated process. Any idea what the wood is? Western red cedar used to be preferred but that looks darker
Yess!!!!!
A completely different sailboat and experience. Thanks for taking us along, super interested to see how it works out!
It's kind of cold and snowy up there to work on a boat I would think… I know it's mighty cold down here in S/E Wisconsin!!!! I'm a old biker and I hate the cold and snow. BUT the boss lady is still to young to retire. I retired back in 2009 thinking I'd be living in a warmer place by now!!!! LOL… May you kids be blessed in Jesus name… BBE…
Congratulations..!! How exciting..!! What a fabulous journey, and such a milestone.
following with excitement.
The boat is floating? What? You don't want a trimaran submarine? 🙂
Well done, enjoy the journey!
oh yeah, you got the cedar boat! If you end up sailing her hard at some point, you will be much rewarded for this choice. The woodies are much stiffer and able to handle the pounding upwind. And if you do any mods that invade the hulls, it's like magic when the saw opens up the cedar aroma that's locked in there. That cockpit stuff should be no problem, and I assume by now you've already started hacking away. Standing by if you need a point of view on any of the work being planned (or executed). Congrats! – Ravenswing Greg
Congratulations. Always exciting to get a new boat. You knew all about this when I met you in Annapolis and you didn’t say a thing. Hope you trailer that boat up to the wonderful southern New England waters this summer. May you have Fairwinds and following seas.
Ok, you definitely need to learn more about towing!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you all on the new boat! Stay safe!
I thought watching you work on the Tartan was fun but this will be a great experience . A Trimaran makes a lot of sense. Best of luck to you . I’ll be watching.
Another fantastic episode. Boat is gonna be so fabulous, she's a beautiful tri… "Congratulations!"
Everyone is so happy for you but no one give you some advice. Have it put on a flat bed tow truck and delivered to your yard. Odds are it will be snowy and slick and a over loaded pickup truck is not what you want to deal with. That bumper hitch is not adquate. I worked for boat brokerages in ANNAPOLIS and have seen almost every thing that can be wrong with a boat. Yes Tartans,Ericsons,Sabres,Freedoms,S1,Melges,Pacific seacraft,,Beniteau but never a trimaran. Alarge tow truck can tilt the bed and winch it aboard and deliver it the same way.
Don’t let the car rental place know you towed with the truck. I rented a truck recently and was told towing anything with it would invalidate my rental contract.
