1. I bet Malin was glad that Johan didn't take a bigger truck,…what a wonderful find, enjoy your new toys! Safe travels.

  2. I would go look at a Moody DS or a Garcia and see how they deal with helm sight lines. Larger windows in the aft deck salon bulkhead may help.

  3. It's nice to see VR being used for something other than games! Surprising what's visible when you can stand "in" the boat and look around. Great find with those tools, too! I'm sure they'll all be put to work.

  4. Coupla things: the opening segment with Malin & Vera playing in the snow was both a beautiful, bucolic landscape & a heart-warming family scene; and Johan musta felt like a kid in a candy store when he discovered all of those industrial-quality carpentry machines in one place … and all of that red cedar for a good price would be the icing on the cake – Bart

  5. Lucky that you were able to buy "experienced woodshop tools!" A craftsman needs good tools to perform his artistic production! Tools in the hands of the master artist are the beginning of fulfilling his dream project. Let the build begin! Autograph your efforts with excellence, it will be a self-portrait of the person you are. Carpe Diem!

  6. Wow such a blessing to find old, but sturdy equipment for the workshop. Beautiful scenery with all the snow❄️❄️☃️☃️ so excited for all of you 🙏🙏💕💕💕⛵️⛵️

  7. You should be looking into making a scow bow design. Better in so many respects to eliminate the useless point on the front that is just a waste of space and surely designed to carve big chunks of oceans off and deposit them on your deck. You could have a forty foot fifty footer with better stability, and many other positives. In ten years there will be no boats made with points on the front. I’ll bet you can’t say when that pointy bit became part of the lexicon of sailing.

  8. I love the fact that you were able to secure the equipment that you will be needing as you go forward. You are a very resourceful person. Looking forward to the next Video.

  9. Johann, I would not get 4-sided planer I would have a shop to do that for you. It's one off job. I wrote to you earlier when you first announced about building a boat. We have build boats before with the exact same principle. How you want those strips is one side planed (inside the boat) other side more "hairy/not finished" the outside. The joining sides with U and reverse U shape (guess scalloped is the right English word). Straight edged stripes won't work

  10. Hi Johan, If you still haven't found the right wood. I saw an advert on fb from a Dutch guy who has a lot strips for sale. When you want I can send you his address. Fine Regards, Peter

  11. Great find on the wood working machines. I would say the older heavier machines are a better choice them some of the "hobbie" equipment that is available. I have the very same band saw the it don't use anymore and replaced it with a nice Italian machine. Hopefully the one you picked up is better. The aluminium table and blade guides make precise re-sawing almost impossible . Good luck with the cedar 🙂

  12. Coming together nicely there, I love the way the scenery changes so much with the snow what a fantastic place to live.
I hope your warm enough I bet its fresh in the mornings.

  13. So very exciting. Johan that was a great connection to find close by. A carpenter by trade an skill is a great person to Kno …! an the virtual vessel was amazing. It's Crazy what you can do now technology is amazing!! Thanks again for sharing your lives with us ✌🏼💗😊⛵

  14. Johan in "getter done!"-mode. We need some machinery, so we go get a couple machines. Might have washed up Red Cedar also …. It seems so easy! Poseidon might want to have You out there again as soon as possible, obviously 😄 Congrats and thanks for sharing.

  15. By the time you get all those heavy tools slid into position, you are going to have to repaint the floor! That was a lucky find! All in one place! Did you have any tools of your own, or did you have to sell those when you went sailing? Did he say in what form his cedar was? Is it all 1×6 or the metric equivalent?

  16. I know you will do a fab job but someone else like you just bought a Farrier f9 trimaran for trailerability and use on the great lakes usa. it was built of western red cedar planked and skinned and while I know you have seen these it starts out one way and when done is sleek, smooth, strong and light weight. If you watch their video you can see the hull and amas as they were being built then how it looks when done. Not much sleeker or faster than the forces with a trimaran. You are such a perfectionist and good carpenter I know your bigger monohull will turn out to be fantastic, one frame, one action at a time. They are Sailing Solianis who went from a 37ft monohull to this trimaran. It is repetitive to show you as I am sure you have your own videos but if you can make a tri that looks like this, someone with your skills can use the same tech to make anything. Congrats and we will love watching you do it. I will post a link to theirs if you do want to see it about 2/3rds through as the builder built it. go to 9.02 minutes on the tape to see the sections under construction using western red cedar. Lighting was dark so it looked darker than actual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V5lPv8AN0g
