  1. Hi Matt and Jessica. I built my cat using epoxy so my comment may not apply. I am curious why you let the fibreglass strip dry before you glued the strip of foam down to it? In epoxy land, we're constantly trying to get primary glue joints rather than secondary. Ie you glue to epoxy that is wet or tacky if you can which means that there is a genuine chemical bond. If you are gluing to dried fibreglass, you have to sand both sides to key up the surfaces and the bond is a secondary bond because it is only a mechanical bond. So I would have laid out the strip of fibreglass and then put on the thickened glue and put the foam down while the fibreglass was still wet–it all then becomes a primary bond. Also, why use sand bags instead of just screwing down the floor to the supports and taking the screws out later and filling the holes? The screws will really pull the two parts together and minimise the glue thickness. Phil

  2. As much as sailing episodes, I really enjoy the labor you are doing, in such detail. Fun to watch, learn a bit and look forward to each new episode. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Wow you really go the extra mile.
If I ever have a boat built I would hire both of you to oversee the quality of the build.
Cutting the floor panel to in-lay a layer of fiber glass “” who does that “ lol
Have you seen the videos of the poor guys in New Zealand with the “lagoon 45’s” cats.
All of the bulkhead’s have broke away from the hull. The bulkhead’s are 3/4” plywood that has come apart from the stress or just bad plywood, ether way they are tearing apart their lagoon 45’s to replace the bulkhead’s. Apparently this is a widespread problem with just the lagoon 45 or maybe all lagoon’s.
Maybe if lagoon had you for Q C they would have any problems.

  4. Just subscribed recently, as someone told me about your channel and I live about 15 minutes away from your marina! Happy to see you doing such careful, thorough, work and not taking short cuts. It'll pay off in the long run and you'll be so happy you spent the time doing it right – good work! Putting a floor down may seem mundane to some, but I can absolutely believe what an exciting milestone that is for you all! Keep it up!

  5. Question. I understand area under floor is water-tight? but are are really sealing it up with no possibility of draining it? First real thing I have seen you do that I actually question if that is good idea. Sure it would be fine for years as is, but for the life expectancy of the boat? Thoughts or reasoning?

  6. I am amazed at the extent of the work you are both doing. The end result should make it all worth while but goodness somebody's arm is going to fall off! You guys are so detail oriented! That is going to be one heck of a sailing catamaran!!!

  7. Very impressed with your workmanship and enthusiasm for the work. You both so well together and I have really enjoyed watching from the first videos. Your adventures have made me feel I was going along with you. Keep it up and try to enjoy yourselves even more if that’s possible. Glad to have come on board for the sail. Looking forward to the rest of the build!!!

  8. Sorry, but, 7mins 11 seconds and didn't learn or see anything interesting. Have to leave, but I am leave ng this comment to help with the algorithm,👍🙂

  9. You guys are really doing a nice job. Your boat will definitely look like a pro build.
Since you changed to weekend posting. Has it helped with viewership? Your subs look like they are finally getting up near where they should be.

  10. Just got to watch this one, Great video and progress.. Nice to see that Taylor is still in the area. Her van is one of a kind and some of us know what it looks like lol… Won't be long and y'all will be ready to splash. Can't wait to se how it continues.

  11. Would it make sense to fill those hollow areas with a light weight pourable urethane foam? Just in case you have a leak to keep the water out (at least until reaching land).

  12. Hey guys, just found this interesting video i want to share with you regarding installing bulkheads. Based on what Privilege does, you two are doing a spectacular job and are in great boat building company. Congratulations and well done. You two also would do very well as hiring yourself out as build consultants to new kit buyers who love the better quality, but lack the skills and knowhow, and cannot afford the prebuilt factory boat. Just saying. Yes, i personally feel you two combined are that good. Cheers.

  13. You two are doing an amazing job! Maybe someone has already put this out there but my tip would be pvc pipe. We use 3” long pieces to smooth all our fillets rather then the cut squeegee. And of course you can get many different diameters. Works like a dream! Keep up the great work!
