2. Why don't y'all just use FRP skins. Then you don't have to worry about fairing so much. You can make FRP with one or two layers the fiberglass mat laid over gel coat.

8. You need a 16 inch air file, its
   used in auto repair, longer sand boards less dips and holes.

Very interesting to see a bit on the electronics, pretty smart choices! Was thinking the future of cruising is certain to include AI co-pilots that analyze the boat data and provide advice/hints/guidance. Being able to route the power usage data to an onboard computer/AI for logging is a neat approach. Probably not to far off before the boat computer could be smart enough to recommend putting water bottles in the freezer to make use of surplus energy generation…

16. Is there a reason you don’t use a long board sander (electric) to sand all the fairing compound? You should get a smoother finish vs the rotary scanner.

17. With regards to electrical switching, I’m just wondering about DIY servicing. Knowing a bit about new electronic practices, how easy will it be to get parts / modules in the middle of nowhere. The old socketed chips have gone the way of the dodo and use of surface mount technology much like everything else for your nav system is a plug and replace. They are for the most part reliable or they would not be used in aircraft but they do fail eventually.

18. Jessica idk I could be wrong but have you thought about finishing one of these walls that you filled and sanded only once and see how it comes out, cause the constant filling and sanding I feel you guys are putting ton of work into the walls and it may not be needed.

19. 13:40 that's a really nice electrical panel, I was going to suggest going with victron components, which you can maybe do for charge controller and inverter setup. They have systems capable of 240v 50a also depending on your solar, lithium size. For A/C and washer dryer reason's I would try to do 50a rv setup but that's just me. I would try to stick to victron mainly for parts availability worldwide. That panel your going to use is amazing though.

I have a all battery lithium winnebago travato mine uses the volta brand system and I have about 10kwh of battery fully charged your absolutely correct your going to nickel and dime your constant loads down to the single digit watts when your living like this. I highly suggest you put all your outlets on flipping switches so you can cut small constant loads like coffee machine that's plugged in but not doing anything or star link router that your not currently using. I do this using wall mounted power strips but since you have the ability during the build to do wall switching on the outlet I would definitely do it.

23. I have mixed feelings about Simarine after installing their Pico monitoring system last summer. The hardware (shunt, interface board, Pico display) seems to be quite alright, but the SW / firmware is still shaky even after being in the market for some years now. Doing the initial setups like battery specifics using the Pico screen itself is very far from being intuitive. It is a little bit better using the app Also the app doesn't show correct numbers for my hotel battery (just zeros) but only for my starter battery. When asking their service about that problem I was told to purge the current hotel battery setting and to input it anew. But when I tried to do so the app crashed. Problem unsolved until now, January 2023. (I was always using the latest versions of firmware and app, respectively). There are other minor issues but I won't get too elaborate now.
    In general their service is O.K., e-mails are typically answered inside hours and in one case I even had a video conference with them from on board my boat iot lead me around some of the obstacles during installation.
    Since the Nereide system is way more complex than the Pico I would not be surprised if you are going to experience some trouble using it. IMHO it seems to be a pretty good idea to look for other products, try to get some reports on their qualities and experiences with them a.s.o. You certainly now what I mean.

27. You guys are doing awesome. A suggestion, look to the faring pros, AUTO BODY pros. They have been sanding faring compound, to fix dents, since when they used lead for filling over steel. Look into their large disk orbital sanders and inline sanders. They take a ton of air, from a large compressor, but your time saved will pay for it all.

28. After wiping or dusting off the surface; hold a small bright flashlight flat to the surface plane, shining across the plane when inspecting for ridges, fine pinholes, etc, this will show any imperfections before paint. Doing the same along joints, corners and seams to pick up defects that MAY bother you after paint. It really depends how smooth you want everything to look with a glossy finish and what you can tolerate. I’ll give it to you both, you are doing a great job in this marathon of determination.

30. It's really amazing how much time is going into the fairing process, it's far more than I imagined it would be. You guys want perfection, and you WILL have it! Can you imagine how much more time it would take to fair the entire boat if you had gone with a kit that had nothing but flat panels??? The boat is looking fantastic, can't wait to see the interior painted!

31. Keep up the great work! Have you thought about maybe using a credit card corner sized fillet on the 90 degree corners? Might make the fairing of those corners better and give a smooth inside corner when finished.

32. MAIN ELECTRIC PANEL LOCATION: If the panel is just "electronic circuit breakers", then the location chosen is great. However, if that same panel has read-outs which you will be spending lots of time gazing at, then perhaps the panel should be in a location where it can more easily studied. Best case would seem to be TWO panels – the lower one for circuit protection and on/off and a second conveniently located multi-display data read panel. This is probably the case anyway in today's world of digital wonders.

33. Have y’all talked to or considered talking to a drywall pro to get some tips and tricks in fairing out your walls faster? I’ve done both boat interiors and homes, professionally, and the techniques are very similar. Just a thought. It’s looking great!!
