Not trying to be a kill joy after many years of running charter yachts one thing I would never do is go barefooted when doing deck work. On a yacht it is so easy to badly damage your feet id bare especially near anchor chains also as in Royal navy never wear rings when doing deck work very easy to lose a finger. Just a thought re your safety
