  1. I rebuilt houses and could probably swing granite counters and a fridge with a little dent in it, I've always just shit in the ocean so restroom, for me not necessarily needed but I could swing it.

  2. I've built well over 30 boats from scratch, with the natives here. Hollowed out canoes rafts, everything from the basics from 1500 years ago to a 40 foot wharram. I wouldn't even buy one. My neabors git a lumber kiln and trees everywhere. We don't use money like the dipshits in California. That's why we don't chug cockes. We ain't dumb u know

  3. I appreciate your videos. I've been a charter captain, boat owner (still own one), charter master, delivery captain for several decades and have seen so many people catch the dream. So often when they take delivery of the boat, (and sometimes I've sailed with them on their first voyage) something happens or their spirit changes and the boat becomes a floating RV that doesn't move and is really never touched again, nor do I really hear from them much again. In another case, the family worked on the boat for 2.5 years only to have it sink at its slip before their first real venture beyond a daysail. Heartbreaking. I know many of them, without the benefit of YouTube, have gone through extreme angst with it as their boat has a for sale sign on it as it sits on the hard in the bone yard. However, some are still sailing and enjoying every journey….but they went into it with the awareness of the information you provide here. Thanks. You do the sport of sailing/yachting a great service.

  4. It is obvious these people all jumped on band wagon – get out there– LOOK AT US– Get the wife to drop all her gear and show it all for the world (Disgusting female goddess worship) with no knowledge of sailing- or the basic knowledge of Hull design – transom • Length/displacement ratio that should be above 5.5 in all cases. LOOK AT US WE LOVE OURSELVES – Then you have the drama queen shrews – OMG– SAVE US FROM THESE PEOPLE. – Soon we will have one crazy invite us to see her give birth to a baby underwater– WOW we had a baby underwater… DUH!! NARCISTS.
Nearly all the so-called high-latitude boats which are supposed to be good at everything are in fact good for nothing, sailing first and foremost. Too heavy, too complicated, everything compromised. Just stick with a simple boat that was designed for sailing primarily.

  5. for all the youtube channels you mentionned it is a patreon business..and the patreons fund their dream….example : magic carpet have 1400 patreons ( 2$ ,5 $ , 10 $ etc ) because before they hide for most of the channels those informations , i can say the average is around 4 $ ( magic carpet only ) per video x 1400 patreons = 5600$ and 4 videos per month = 22400 $ per month ( after you have a patreon commision and tax ) so it is a business and for sailing la vagabonde , delos or uma it is much higher than magic carpet …before the numbers of la vagabonde patreons fell , they reached 6000 patreons and the average $ per video was probably 5 or 6 $ ..Like Delos it is a big business ( sorry i am french and my english practise is bad )

  6. Project Atticus announced they are cutting back on sailing, summer sailing only it appears.
Question: your thoughts on a nearly 8’ draft? Can it sail the Bahamas for a short amount of time?

  7. After many years of sailing smaller boats a friend and myself decided to buy an excharter 50 footer. We had growing families and wanted some space. We bought a sound ex Moorings First 501 in Saint Martin and sailed her back to the UK. We spent a bit of money fitting holding tanks and upgrading sails and rigging. Maybe we were lucky but two families had years of fun both in the UK and the med. Ok, she was worth very little at end, but we got a lot of sea miles for little money. In my seventies now I have gone full circle and day sail on a Contessa26 with my grandson.

  8. hey, I actually enjoy your videos dissing youtubers quite a lot but I was wondering, would it make sense to you to make one on youtubers (or just people, maybe simple bloggers) that have done it right to take some notes on how to do it right? asking because I plan to sail with my girlfriend. We don't want to be youtubers but sadly youtube has been our source of info. We just want some guidance 🙂
p.s. we're going to contact you when we're ready to head out (in maybe a year or two)

  9. Project Atiicus, a nice middle-aged bought a Rollie Polly antique design sailboat. The wife got pregnant and was seasick 24 hours a day and he made the brilliant decision to cross the ocean at time. I wonder why the child was born with medical problems? I bet he wishes he could do that over. They seem like good parents.

  10. Glad i came across u as soon i hope to be buying next year, was looking into a prout cat but after watching your videos can't decide. My sea experience is just kayaking and just hadn't the time to sail but next year be different and probably have about 100 th euro for something. Live in Ireland and can't believe i have never learned to sail as surround by water 😅. Keep up the good work and can't wait to talk

  11. Unreal people can get that can of $$ for these older boats. My town has plenty of these– I love sailing but am sitting at my house instead of buying any of these
