The staircase of locks that you mention is called a flight of locks. I know someone has already told you this, but the notion of a flight of locks is so evocative, I couldn't resist.

Do you know how much you spent on canal passes and fuel?
From the videos of canals in the UK they are shallow. A sail boat keel would not clear the bottom. So how deep are the French canals.

We are a sailing family and have a YouTube channel, but we have very few subscribers; I am inconsistent with making videos and I stay away from flashing semi-naked bodies in our episodes.
