NAVIGARE PE MARILE LACURI. VRACIER

Pe vremea când lumea era puțin mai simplă, 2019. Am navigat pe Marele Lacuri doar o lună. Nava era veche, munca era grea, dar lacurile erau frumoase. #SIU #MerchantMariner #Sailing #GreatLakes EMAIL: joefrantachannel@gmail.com INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/franta.joe/

  1. that's where I start my sailing. First Lake boat was the Edmund Fitzgerald two weeks relief job. working out of Lake carriers Association in South Chicago. end up sailing 30 years mostly saltwater. I truly loved it.

  2. YouTube algorithm had me stumble on your page. I watched your container transit, liked your vlog so I kept watching. Stumbled on this one and actually seen me loading one of the ships you were on. I'm from the Port of Ashtabula. We used to load out UTAC for Cle Cliffs. Small world. What ASC ship were you on in this vlog?

  3. The Great Lakes blows chunks. There’s nothing like being cooped up on a laker getting all claustrophobic because the water runs out nearly every day so you can go to some miserable place like Cleveland, or my home town, where you’re only in port for five hours because the conveyors are totally automated so you can’t even get drunk. Plus Lake Erie in August smells like rotting fish in a steam bath.

  4. Good video except the blasphemy and swearing. Please keep in mind that Christians are watching your videos also. Thanks.

  5. Bro I’m from Cleveland and the first thing you said is “what a fucking rust bucket”. That is freaking hilarious LMAO

  6. I’m the guy zipping past you on my 17’ F/S bow-rider in between Harsen’s Island and Grosse Ile with the radio blaring. Ya know trimmed up, on the outside of Belle Isle going 35 knots. Looking like the poor hull is going to smash in half😂.

  7. I grew up in Bay City, seen the Sam Laud many many times.
    Thanks for sharing your story.
Ive always wondered what it wouldve been like to work on one of those ships.

  8. I was born in Detroit and I’ve always loved the lakes. Unfortunately I’ve been working a desk job 50 hours a week for the last 3 years and I have come to the conclusion that this isn’t for me. Is there any way I can get into your line of work? I don’t even know where to start. I am able bodied and willing to work. 👍

  9. As a seasoned veteran of the lakes I'm gonna tell you right now when I saw you grab that wire with your bare hands it reminded me of my first time ever grabbing a line I got a beautiful fish hook that left a nice little scar to this day please don't grab a line with your bare hands that wire rope hurts

  10. How does one get a job on one of these boats. It’s been a dream of mine since I was young. I’m 22
And want to know where to start. From Michigan btw. Saw the Sam laud the other day on the belle isle live cams. Very cool.
