84. DIY DREAM Motor Sailor [Project Boat Full Tour] | Învățarea liniilor

1. I love your show. I liked the enclosed cabin, like you said 360 degree enclosed view in case of bad weather. The boat seems rough, too much needed work for me. I do love ya’ll demoing these boats, I think it is so cool. I would love to own a boat and do not know hardly anything about sailing. I owned 3 fresh water boats before my accident in which the Postal truck I was stopped in got rear ended by a guy going 60-65 mph and knocked the truck over a 1/10 of a mile from the point of impact. It has been years and I have a bad instability all through my neck and had to sell my boats years ago but I sure would like to try going out on a boat again in order to see if I could own one again. I learn more about some of the functions and a lot about the lay out from watching ya’lls channel. Thank you so very much.

  2. I have owned a Boatyard/ Marina for years and am very in tune as to the amount of work this boat will need. I am astounded by the price tag on this boat. I guess the owner doesn’t want to sell.
I would place a value on this vessel at approximately 20 K. And god bless the person who purchases her. They better know what they are in for.

  3. I really enjoyed this tour. Many things about this boat would make for a grand sail. I liked that it was roomy and the prisms that brought in natural light is a big plus for me. The large main cabin is like a dream come true, as well as the two quarter berths and the two wet heads. The pilothouse would be awesome for sailing on those rainy and windy days at sea. The powerful engine would make sailing those calm days a breeze.
Well, those were the pros. The cons list is just as long, starting with the asking price at $119K. Let's just say that seems rather steep for the amount of work that this boat needs. New sails would set you back quite a few dollars for quality sails. But it's the multitude of little things that will drag you down here.
All in all, I loved this boat and the tour and would love to see more of the same. See both of you on the next tour, and thanks for bringing us along.

  4. the clicking had me scratching my head… about a minute and a half after I decided it was part of your video and not something at the house you added the comment about it on the video

  5. That boat needs a lot of work. Let's see, I'm 74 now. I could have that boat knocked out by the time I'm 90. Then what?? It would be time to start all over again!

  6. Like the boat tour. I would trust your analysis more than any seeing all the hard work you have put into Freebie. Enjoyed this a lot, especially as I look around at boats for myself.

  7. I'm a sucker for these boats with a wheel house but this one doesn't rate the price tag. Additionally, I would be over every inch of this one with a moisture meter. It would probably make a decent live aboard but it would require too much work and money for blue water cruising.

  8. The tours are a nice opportunity for us to see the yachts, but you are not knowledgeable. To be honest it would be better to go round with either the sales agent or the owner. Just sayin' as your comments are pretty worthless.

  9. The thing with all these taiwan boats, is you have to dig into the guts of the boat, and ignore the pretty furniture… many early choey lee glass boats had serious blister problems… you have to look at how the bulk heads are tabbed to the hull , how the systems were built, at the through hulls, the piping and wiring… especially at the decks and house construction. wood decks and poorly encapsulated cores in "glass:" decks can be rotten. What looks like solid glass often isn't…so every top side fitting is a potential source of leaks, and soggy cores. Plus.. the Costs Increase with the Square or the Cube of the Boat Size… so unless you can afford to keep a good 42 footer… you surely cant afford to keep and upgrade a bad one. One the other hand.,… IF you know what the fuck you are doing, (which essentially means you could survey the thing yourself and not get any big surprises) and have cash resources and time.. there are many neglected boats to be had at a fraction of the market price for a good one. Question is how many years and how many skills do you have to put to the test ? If you are being led around by the nose by rosy cheeks and perky tits.. you are doomed.

  10. Same boat as the Ted Brewer Pan Oceanic. Just looked at one in Florida that was $20k. Is was thrashed though. Awesome boats.

  11. I like that one. Nice layout, good storage, love the pilot house, needs work but I like it.
If I had the money I'd buy it right then and there.

  12. My grandparents owned one of these when I was a kid! I have some great memories sailing on it. Theirs was ketch rigged, but aside from that was nearly identical to the one in the video. The enclosed pilothouse was really nice in a thunderstorm.
