Does the auto flush have an activated charcoal filter? It would appear that water in your tanks was, until this filling, city water and may contain chlorine. Activated charcoal filter gets rid of chlorine in city water that will damage the membranes in tubes.
Wherever there are metal to plastic/plastic to metal connections will be the weak links in the chain. Safe journeys !
So glad the Water Maker is finally in.
I hope the repairs go well too.
People don't buy watermakers because water is "expensive" – they buy them so they don't have to go refill their tanks. Billy didnt' talk about it but it gives you FREEDOM to use water as you wish without worrying about when you might have to go somewhere and fill your tanks. Most boats have tanks that aren't large enough for extended times on the hook.
Want to take another shower? No problem? Want to wash the boat with fresh water? no problem. That's why people get watermakers.
Impressive! Is there a level that you want to fill your tanks to? Either for health of tanks/system or performance of boat?
Love maintenance and installation videos! At around 30:18, with the membrane pressure very low, it looked like the green light for water quality was good? Isn't that supposed to be measuring the membrane output? Was it good because you had already let good water flow? Just curious. Love your videos. Thanks!
Extremely well done. Very clear how the system works.
Great vid, love the maintenance, very professional install. Merry Christmas to all.
I, for one, am impressed….
I bet you guys are really happy, I know if it was me I'd be delirious if I lived on a boat. Keep the good stuff coming and give Jetty a treat for me.
I enjoy these type of videos. Quite involving task installing water makers, great job. Looks like the Seawind 1170 has plenty of working space for that size boat which makes it easier
The issue with teflon tape over teflon paste is the tape could get inside and cause issues to systems components at least in hydaulics that is. I'm sure it's not good for water systems as well. I do like to use a little tape torwards the end of fittings with paste at the tip back. It has worked all the time for me this way.
Impressive! Neat install too!
Nice install video.
big job.. good job 😛
That being a main bulkhead shouldn't you have fibreglassed it ?
Wow! It looks great- I’m impressed
Perhaps, epoxy seal the inside of the wall of the control panel placement. May save you problems in the future of water getting into the wood between the glass outer surfaces. Happy holidays!
I usually just put a carbon filter in line and run all fresh water from dockside just turn down pressure and purify that water before tank when you travel north
You're a genuine trailblazer! 🌌 ›› "Courage is vital, as success and risk are intertwined."
Very cool video, great content. We have the portable Rainman system for our sailboat, it's powered by a honda 4 stroke engine. Our boat is a 2020 Corsair 880 Sport Trimaran that doesn't have a lot of storage area, so the portable unit was the best option for us……
I don't need AC where I live but I don't understand why it would need a raw water intake? In my limited experience a condensate drain yes but what does it do with raw water?
❤❤🥰🥰
Maybe a silly question but I'm not trying to be silly: What is the pickle bucket for? Do you really throw cucumbers in there and make pickles? Do you use sea cucumbers while at sea? (Okay, that was silly but the first question was serious.)
Thanks for the very interesting installation. Quite alot of planning and labor to get it going, but well worth it, for sure.
Paste over tape. But is the paste food grade or for use with potable water?
Good Job.!
Watching Sierra's expressions while Billy sliced a big hole in the boat was hilarious! 🤣😂
Wow, you blow chief Makoi away.
Water Water everywhere and not a dwop to dwink … Until now!!☺ Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Nice job.
Hello, what was the out come of the initial damage to you vessel that you showed us briefly, you said you would give us the costs and results of repair please or was that posted already ???
👍
👏👏
Merry Christmas ☃️🎄
To vent the heat out of that compartment with the pump (I had heat issue in camper compartment) I mounted a computer fan in the inside and used a S/S shower grid between the fan & bulkhead and the 4 fan screws hold it in place. Then I wired a usb plug for power. Has worked great over a last 18 months. Good luck we enjoy your chanel
Great video as always. One small thing – can you quote internationally recognised (metric) units as well as imperial for viewers who are outside the USA? Otherwise very helpful and interesting.
Great video! Auto flush is time saving feature. Only way to travel is with a desalinator! You two are the best. As Michelle told you, we had a 2 hp AC pump, made 60 to 65 gallons an hour. We pieced ours together, had plans to make it all automatic.
Just wondering, why not seal the core with epoxy before installing the panel giving the high risk of water exposure?
Wow, I'm so impressed by your determination and hard work in making unlimited fresh water on your sailing catamaran! Your maintenance and installation videos are always top-notch, and it's clear that you put in a lot of research and preparation. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and an adventurous 2024 filled with amazing sailing experiences. May your water maker bring you the independence and freedom to explore remote anchorages and enjoy the luxuries of home on your boat.
