Welcome to DAY 2! We hope you’re enjoying following our journey as much as we are enjoying sharing it! ❤ thanks for being here
Hard work!!
I'm getting spoiled watching these everyday. I'm not going to like going back to once a week lol
Really enjoying daily’s,can’t wait for you to hit water
Really enjoying your journey. Thank you for sharing.
You are making great progress!
C'est devenu une course contre la montre maintenant. Bon courage !
Its a shame you were not prepared to bolt a lead keel rather than sacrificial capping, as this would have stiffened the boat up and taken some of the roll out by lowering the center of gravity , it would have also freed up some of your bilge from all that ballast you packed in there. Im also intrigued as to why you were not adventurous enough to give Yaba a center plate which would have made huge differences on leeway drift and sailing capacity especially upwind . Perhaps when you sailed her for a year you will be out installing a center plate and dropping the center of gravity by installing a ballast keel ?
Very exciting to watch this race to the finish. Also, I’ve never heard “Mushroom On The Stump” anywhere but here. Charming song!
Keep at it. YOU CAN DO IT!
😃
Well done for making such progress and editing this episode. Keep going you will both be able to enjoy the hard work soon enough 😀
Be careful, us viewers are going to become accustomed to these everyday videos!! As always, thanks for taking us along on your journey.
Are you going to place a rope cutter around the prop?
I'm just keeled over watching your vlogs
Long sleeves, glasses, safety boots and stuff? I think I’m watching the wrong video 🤷♂️.
Wow, you guys are really moving
Watching all work going on reminded me of a movie -“Fast and Furious”. Another incredible episode .
Understanding it's for the better, how difficult was it to cut off what you'd work so hard on?
I'm curious about general overall cost of this project
What a magnificent job have you done, both and the boatyard team. I am following you from the beginning, and I am happy for you that you will arrive at the end. I am looking out for the day of launching YABA. Kind regards from Brussels.
Just curious have you thought about notching your rudder down below so you could pull shaft out in future repairs or will you have room when your rudder is turned to the side?
Prop cavation is going to be a problem but fix might be remove all the below skeg in the prop area
all looking real good there Ben (at least its warm, freezing here in UK)
are you getting all your electronics and plumbing sorted before you enter water, things fitted through the hull etc, water in and out, engine cooling, and gadgets with sonar and depth finding – don't want you scraping your new bottom
have you considered a rope cutting on the prop shaft as well
great works
I think that sailboat is going to need a deeper keel. You will never be able to sail with winds coming from your starboard or port sides, because your sailboat will just get pushed sideways across the water. You boat hull is rather flat. If it were more of a displacement hull you might get away with a shallow keel. A sailboat of that size & it being mostly flat bottom, your going to need at least a 4-6 ft deep full length keel.
Here we go again !!!…👍👍
I can't help thinking it would have been a lot easier to have fitted the sacrificial keel at the same time as the keel?
Watching for a while love your videos. Don't forget caulk the keel you had mentioned that you left it uncaulked to let any fresh water out during the build. I've worked in the fuels career field in the Air Force I'm hoping that you replace the 2 in water hose for your diesel fill sometime in the future. It will not hold up for the long run. Also, I'm hoping that your use brass for your though hulls, they are long lasting and seawater resistant. Take care.
I m so happy to see yabá almost ready 🫶🏻🙌🙌
but if you guys leave land please let me buy your car I love this type of car 😍
Suggestion : Installing a rope cutter on prop shaft and a sacrificial anode to protect it from stray current
Do you have any plans for a fire suppression system, been watching for quite some time and haven't heard any mention of one, or perhaps I just missed that
have you put anods on your proppelar shaft yet
worm shoe is what we call it here in the states and inspect every 5 years
Keep going!
Getting excited can’t wait to sea her in the water 😂😂😂
I know I'm not the only one feeling very spoiled by these daily episodes. Very much appreciated!
Loving these daily videos, and a huge thanks to the editor (MP I think?)
I've been watching for a long time and wow what an epic finish to splash, big respect to you all
Interesting innovation to what essentially now looks almost like a skeg, but what happens (heaven forbid) if you need to drop the rudder?
Why do the worms attack the kiel from the bottom only?
If you say sacrificial keel one more time my head is going to explode.
