Complicated love affair this little big cruiser.
Love the build and layout, but feel all the ingenuity kinda is also the boats short-coming, in that you end up with VERY little storage space for typical cruising accessories like dive bottles, compressor, water maker, generator etc.
wonder how space would work out if they tossed the volvo engine for a generator, and battery bank, and put one of the new electric drives on the boat. but its still tight no matter how you flip it. "indoor" is litterally the deck-saloon and the kitchen, very little space to move around, compare to a far less expensive Jeanneu 490 sleeps 6 for less with much more "room to live" under deck.
*that said – the construction of the 40DS is legendary, and I want a boat for higher latitudes and keep coming back to the 40DS as probably one of the most bullet proof options in the size/pricepoint
BTW.. Love the work of YACHT TV. Im danish living in Hollywood, and learned German in school, by accident started watching your content and find it some of the best on YouTube in terms of quality.

Hi really hate the modern trend of having a perpendicular bow. Has anyone done any testing to see how much the boat is slowed down by how much resistance there is with all the plowing effect?

490.000 für die 40er, das waren noch Zeiten, heute kostet eine gebrauchte Sirius 35 DS 748.000 Euro (gerade eine von 2021 bei Diamond Yachts zu verkaufen)
