  1. Venus' anchor exits the hull a long way from the bow, where most boats anchor from. This could allow her to 'sail' round her anchor in strong winds…

  2. I setup my GPS on my small boat to alarm if we moved more then 100 feet when we were sleeping on the lake. I had this happen where anchor dragged into deeper water from wind while sleeping woke up we were on the other side of the lake.

  3. Venus has a battering ram stainless plum bow. I wouldn’t want to get hit by that. The big mystery…does Venus carry horses?

  4. If buddy wasn’t so busy screaming at a boat, he would have realized they they’re the boat that’s clearly getting pushed by the wind. Just look at the water. Absolute 🤡 Venus didn’t crash into them, they crashed into Venus.

  5. I do believe that standard maritime protocol requires yelling, "Hey!" at the top of one's lungs repeatedly before, during, and just after boats bump. Standard stuff.

  6. Uninitiated, lol. M/Y Moura was clearly overswinging her mooring. Probably let out too much line. The video appears to show Venus drifting when in fact, it's stationary. Doh. Maybe you'll have to sell more wire to pay for the damage, lol.

  7. The direction of the surf suggests the wind was blowing the Lady Moura into the Venus (Venus would be moving away in that direction as well if it was dragging anchor). Nothing presented in video footage leaves the appearance it was the fault of Venus, only your vocal assessment, there’s not even a crew on board Venus to blame. The Super Yacht News title appearing beginning @1:13 ought to have the ship names reversed.

  8. Lady Moura dragged onto Venus! How would Venus be dragging anchor upwind into LM!? I have the video from another angle which shows it better.

  9. I don't know this channel, but what a stupidity in the conclusion made in this video. He's jabbers something about Venus maybe not loosing anchors and next he just concludes Venus magically crashed upwind into Lady Moura, without any explanation. While clearly, the Venus is simply stable at anchor and Lady Moura is simply drifting/dragging downwind into Venus.

  10. The Venus is at anchor. How the boat Venus is coming upwind at anchor to hit the other yacht?? If dragging the anchor it would go the other way. It was the other yacht hitting the Venus. It is just appearing that it is Venus hitting the other boat but it is the fault of the boat where people are yelling.

  11. You had me utterly confused 2:01 I thought you were saying port is RIGHT!! As a sailor I was about to give you some stern (pun writes itself) words, but then my brain caught up! 😂

  12. The swinging circle is so basic, pretty much yacht 101. The fact that only crew are on the Venus probably means they are ashore or sleeping. One thing’s for sure, the crew of Lady Moura won’t be keeping any tips this season! The Venus is a stunning vessel. C’est la vie – they can clearly afford the damages!

  13. I thought yachts over a certain length had to have a forward’ mast’? Venus doesn’t appear to have one. Do you know why?

  14. Boats don’t drag forward at anchor. You can clearly see the wind direction. My guess is lady Moura was dragging into Venus. Not the other way around

  15. The chain is not visible at all. The anchour locker is further towards stern and not visible at all. Secondly Lady Mara is turning down the wind mate. It is Lady Maras foult for this anchour collision.😆

  16. I would say you got this one wrong, Venus is the stationary one. I would guess crew that was supposed to be on watch in a heap of trouble if still employed, no excuse for this to happen without some response, via horn, or coming out on deck. Would have expected horn signals from BOTH vessels, yelling really doesn’t work with yachts of this caliber, they try to deaden outside noises.

  17. Perhaps Venus thought they had enough rode down but perhaps an underwater canyon where it dropped off and wasn’t anchored. Just another speculation. There are a thousand other possible scenarios

  18. That bigher boat swung into tne other boat. They were quick to get the engine going, which implies to me, that they had started to pull up their anchor, and seung into tje pointy boat.

  19. Ok wait.. The "Offending" vessels Anchor chain was clearly tight and pulling in the direction of and from the Port Bow….That would mean the Vessel should have been moving Aft Starboard and was pivoting around the anchor as the keel was reacting to the wind and pull of the chain…….Correct? So, the crew filming essentially backed into the Offending anchored vessel. Or… am I seeing the Offending vessel somehow out run an anchor chain, against the wind…Or…. was the anchor actually too high and adrift in the current appearing it was tight but in actuality it was at the mercy of the Current..I mean, it looks like the wind was coming from the Port Bow upon contact and then the vessel turned turned into it.
