Călătorind prin Whitsundays și ne-am întâlnit cu un grup de proprietari MacGregor care ne-au informat despre remorcile lor destul de unice. Thanks for showing this quite extraordinary type of boat. Some solution for cruising the UK East Coast Rivers and our Waddenzee in the Netherlands. Weren't you surprised by this hybrid of motor and sailing boat?
great get-together and very nice video Thank You
lovely looking yacht, someone at our yacht club has one. with my fin keel i have to be so very careful with depths. as a newbie with just 3.5 years yachting experience it can be scary with a falling tide. is the mc gregor quick under sail? not that i could afford one
its just too damn ugly
Macs are a beautiful boat, when mine is at the jetty it always draw a crowd of admirers, as for speed its no racing boat, but it is designed as a cruiser not a racer, everyone keeps telling me Macs are not fast, but they have yet to define fast. We do over 6 knots without any problem which is about hull speed, down wind much better.
Then we pull down the sails and motor home at over 20 knots (we can do over 25 but we have a 75Hp motor)
All up a great boat, that has plenty of room for the family
Sounds Great Mike. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the boating. Catch up on a few great spots with some of our other videos. We are about to head north again in a week or two.
Cheers
Norm and Catriona.
These Macgregor trailer yachts are junk and are sold to people who have no idea what they are about. Look at the number on the secondhand market. My advice never buy one and I have owned several trailer yachts.
Thank you for making a thoroughly enjoyable short video, with folks who actually use these boats.
Cracking interview. Just confirms all the reasons I need one of these for next season.
Its macgregor not mcgregor in tumnil
I'd love one of these but there a bit out of my budget range. The weird thing is they are a hell of a lot cheaper to buy in the UK compared to here. I think they're made in Spain, I could be wrong, but that would explain the price difference if true
I used to think I had to be an marine architect to design a boat…then I saw the Macgregor.. a box with a pointy end..tows like caravan. And you can waterside behind it…the most piss weak rig on any sail boat I've ever seen
