  1. In regards to your opening passage. Fishing vessel often act in this way, when considering their intent its experience that allows you to ‘read between the lines’ when determining the intent of vessels.

    More time out of the cruisers world and mixing with working mariners will help you build this experience!

  2. Good morning guys, I’m afraid your commentary suppressing the risk of piracy is a dangerous disservice to the safety of other cruisers. We had a very scary close call between Trinidad and Grenada two weeks ago today. Obviously it’s an area to be careful of.

  4. I was raised in Annapolis, hope the hospitality was good to you. A few beers, wines and rum's around the city and Eastport. The boatshow is better for your and youtube's attendance. Don't get me wrong, the boat their are great, but you guys add personality. Jeff and Cam are great people and have created a great service during boatshow. Enjoy your travels and home, is it too erly to wish you a Merry Christmas, not on Hallmark. See you next season.

We met John and Kristina at the Annapolis Sailboat Show and now I find out that you and Adam are sailing on one of the boats we toured which is the Oyster! What a sensational boat! The owners are so lucky to have such prestigious sailors getting their girl home to safety. How was the trip? We will miss your episodes for the next few months.😢

  18. Regarding the "CPA" and the dramatic vacillation in 'closest range'; I suggest focusing more on the 'bearing' once you've been alerted to the possibility of a close approach. The 'bearing' reading is more consistent and likely more usable to determine the elements of danger. As that bearing changes, it will indicate which general direction of drift exists between vessels. How swifty it changes will be a function of course, of speed (closure), heading and range, but it is something that one can get a good mental sense of, as opposed to the rapidly changing CPA range, which is useless and frankly, potentially unsafe as seeking an electronic answer draws one's attention into the device and therefore less time outside the cockpit. So, from an old guy who has run literally thousands of air-air intercepts, I offer two bits: one, learn how to analyze drift using the changes in bearing and two, 'one peep is worth a thousand sweeps' (meaning, getting an eyeball on what is happening is most times more valuable than 'bore-sighting' on the instruments.) It would seem that the manufacturers could easily fix this CPA issue by changing the CPA formula, but there is also great value in forcing oneself to analyze the drift and increasing real-world situational analysis that way (and forced head-out-of-the-cockpit). Just my two-cents. Love your videos and applaud your courage. Cheers.

  19. I found your channel last Tuesday the 25th of October. Seven days and 190 videos I am caught up…. Well I still have a couple of interviews I want to watch and thanks to Adam I have to check out another channel about admiralty ( three guys talking about sailboats etc… We shall see ).
    Great job on everything you have accomplished and I know you will accomplish a lot more… Thank you .

    I have a couple of questions.
    What tool's do you keep onboard and use the most?
    Safety equipment on board like fire extinguisher, first aid, etc ?
