4:47 Buy the thickest gloves you can find, winter extreme cold insulated. Then wear gloves liners. It’s armour against vibration. In my 20’s , I could sand and needle gun all day long. Now in my 60’s I can go about 20 minuets bare handed . Then my fingers start throbbing from accumulated nerve damage.

  • @raytheron

Impressive, Marina! You're going to be an expert welder soon, no doubt. Thanks for taking us along to Old Blighty, Stu. Seabird is coming along swimmingly (well, not quite yet, but you get my drift) 🙂

  • @divekatdreaming

Marina, It is so cool that you are learning to weld! Honestly It seems like welding round tubes would be difficult, so I think you did a good job!

Can you turn your souvenir into something??? a holder for a fishing pole or make it into something else? Pen holder…flower pot? Toothbrush holder?

  • @nedwphillips2126

Wow well done for ya first go, pretty much unassisted toboot!! I've seen worse eh

  • @SimonJones-jy8ly

I've always wanted to learn to weld – a very useful skill to have. Well done Marina.

  • @blackbirdxx4613

Marina next time show us before you grind the weld 😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • @seanchris8290

That sleep in such a small car must have been uncomfortable I feel for you Stuart, but needs must when the devil…. having that stuff delivered would have cost an arm and a leg so it had to be done. Wow Marina look at you, good for you trying out something new, learning a new skill can be scary, but you just jumped straight in there, and did really well if I might add, excellent. Thanks for sharing guys and see you both next week. xx

  • @ImTheDudeMan471

Marina's value as a sailor and competent boat repair partner just went up by a lange amount by learning how to tig weld👍👏

  • @iscariotproject

well for whats its worth you have tig welded more then me…keep practicing and you might have a new side income welding other boat projects

  • @MrMaduc

The trick for welding is to know hou to flip down the welding mask with style, using only a flick of your head. Experts say it improves tha quality of the weld by 35% and, as a perk, there's some rock music that starts playing out of nowhere as you're working.

  • @TheMightyAntar

So many hours and hours of sanding and yet still dancing!

  • @user-mx1cv7ww9t

Brilliant first attempt Marina! What was really good was seeing you handle the Argon bottle ! It is vital that you keep the transport cap on until the bottle is needed. You also lashed the bottle, this is super important. When a bottle is dropped while moving without the transport cap and the then exposed valve assembly breaks the bottle is like a guided missile and will destroy everything in its path. Something I have seen! so these simple safety steps are always the ones to take.

  • @kevinmartin3859

Well done Marina for your first try at welding stuart when you go back for the p bracket let them know in advance what you want to do then they can arrange for you to film good publicity for them on the whole a good video with good content

  • @myloopooping

I look forward to your weekly videos. Thank you for sharing your experience with the world.

  • @simonbradford6774

Great job Marina, Stu obviously rightly proud of you. Stu, having a big P bracket isn’t all it’s cracked up to be

  • @mikeskelly2356

Learning all the jobs that need doing gives you confidence in the finished work! Remember to keep the gas flowing on the weld for 2 to 3 seconds at the end of the weld, it will keep contaminants from entering the weld puddle. For horizontal welds, a small 'figure 8' motion will give a smooth bead. And for the strongest and most leak proof weld, grind the edges to be joined to form a 'V', you can fill the gap with rod as you go…You're having all the fun while poor Stu is stuck in rainy England!

  • @LenaLavendel161

Wow Marina! I admire you for just picking up that welder and laying down a weld! Maybe you can teach all of us one day:)

  • @kdclothes

Seabird is starting to look very proud again. Your love will save her. love your progress and the videos.

  • @secretsquirrel6124
