I just finished reading about the race, in Fastnet 10. It was a terrifying read. God bless them all.
The Grimalkin looks as if it left Cowes on the race.

My Dad was doing a survey when that happened the morning was very clam he remembered and he saw the leader as he went past my Dad warned him about the Runnel Stone and said he hadn't seen any more boats He was the last person aside from his crew he spoke to before they all died.
