  1. This is an old video but still pertinent. Even the local charter boats lose outboard engines and equipment to the local thieves. Sorong is one of the worst places we have ever visited. Not only the thieves on the water are a problem, but the Sorong immigration officials, in 2015, were some of the most corrupt in Indonesia. Hopefully that has changed. There are great places in Indonesia to visit, Sorong is not one of them. We just discovered a toy paint ball gun, powered by a CO2 cartridge, can be loaded with different projectiles, like the "glass breaker" and "pepper ball", pepper spray, which will be extremely painful and impressive to an intruder. There are other CO2 powered "toys" to help discourage pirates and intruders.

  2. Must be a secret society of cool sailors whom all have sir names that end in the letter N! A conspiracy to allow you to be a Delos crew member or just a crazy coincidence! Inquiring minds want to know…… So good to see the arrival of Phoebe. Her artwork in the earlier videos of Season 1 are amazing! It will be hard telling her and Josje apart in the upcoming episodes. So fun to watch these older episodes to see the entry of the Ramukanji theme song and so many staples of the core them that has built the SV Delos channel.

  4. While 5 years late in watching vid, seems the locals act 'nice', ask questions how long anchoring, etc.. seems to be best to keep tight lip. Not join in on locals so called hospitality & niceties. Just a thought.

  12. It's too bad that people think they can steal from you. Not to be the devil's advocate, but the wealth on board Delos is likely more than the average villagers life earnings in some of these ports. The opportunistic thief might fancy it a victimless crime to justify 'breaking and entering' someones home. I don't think they're bad people, I think they're desperate people in desperate circumstances. I think it's clear that the people in Sorong are willing to go the extra mile to accommodate travelers like yourselves, unfortunately some people who aren't doing-so-well also notice.

  18. Guns. Preferably with a silencer. Sounds violent, but one day it could be a situation where you have no choice other than to kill or be killed.

  21. Best offense is a good defense. Get yourself a blowup doll and a wig and put it in the wheelhouse. Doesn't even have to look that good. They see anything that remotely looks like a person on deck they'll buggar off.

    So was Kaza at University in Australia and maybe on a break so went to visit her pal Nina Pants in New Zealand and where she met Delos?
    Or did she just fly out during break maybe in Sweden University to visit Nina in New Zealand?
    I know how Josje ended up where she was when they found her, just not Kaza

  42. Been binge watching from the start and My goodness what a spittin image of Josje, Phoebe is a doll and so incredibly talented. Her illustrations are awesum, then I saw her sing. Combined with Babs the Leyton sisters sure have contributed a lot of Love n talent to Delos in their time aboard. Feel privileged to have gotten to see that time in your adventures.

  43. My father and a friend were tied up at an old wharf for the night, while sailing in Nova Scotia. They felt someone step on the boat. Dad came out on deck and grabbed a line. He kept whipping just short of the guy, until he had to be whipped, or jump overboard. He chose the water.

Fun fact, bear spay has twice as much capsicum content as a can of mace and can reach up to 30 plus feet and you can also get pump action cross bows plus night vision goggles making any intruder think twice, smoke bombs and masks also help if you feel like you want to be black hawk down.. lol .)))) Also you can get a electric fence for cows transformer and attach it to an isolated top wire they will piss and shit them selves until their teeth fall out a cow is 500 kg lol

So if u sail with things that could be traced back or directly harm the others, it can be removed from your possession for the sake of all😮😮.
