1. You guys are da bomb. I swear I'm still a little less than 2 years away buying my 1st boat. But I sure did learn a lot from this extremely informative video. Plan to take a coast guard course…but this was really a fine effort. There a ton of people who will really appreciate this. Thanks so much.

  2. I was wondering for a while how you manage to safely do the nightwatches with 100% chance of avoiding the 'man-over-board-without-anyone-seeing-the-nightwatch-actually-fall-overboard situation'. Really nice to see this video. Comforts me. Nice.
You guys and girls are full of partying/booze and other stuff, but are so serious about potential hazards/unpleasant situations. Keep up living consciously like this.

  3. Subscribed sometime ago and have been binge watching your videos. I have to agree with several other comments on using a MOB dummy. I spent 4 years in the U S NAVY and we practiced MOB every passage usually 4-5 times. We had a set of clothes with flotation stuffed into it. Finally, I believe that you are the only channel I have seen post a video of the drill. Kudos to you for that. Perhaps you could do it say once per year or at the very least show the pre-passage brief where you discuss this with the crew, new or not new.

Thanks for the quality content that you post

  4. WOW .. i really got nervous when Brady was in the water and getting smaller .. I realized that although its only an exercise he can actually really go missing if they loose sight of him…. O my WORD!

  5. Nice video, a crap way for MOB on a yacht under full sail.
Better is to heave to and drift.
Good explanation by Simon from Sailing Britican in their latest episode.
    watch

  6. good video. imagine doing this with 2 people aboard. or without engine in 4 meter seas. It's worth it to wear gear. they are so small now. sailing close to coast single handed I fell off. thank god another boat saw it. Eire, scary feeling seeing your boat sail on.

  7. NEVER EVER MAKE A DRILL WITH A REAL HUMAN !!! (What happens if it fails ?)
Don't get me wrong, Delos, il love your videos (started watching them from n°1 during Covid 19 quarantine), but what you did there is wrong and dangerous.
Briefing was ok, but with a sail boat, i was trained to use sails first ! If you are close to the wind, stopping the boat is easy. If you are downwind, turn around and release the sheets, start the motor but DON'T make the propeler turn during the maneouver. Don't forget you will be in panick=> there's a great chance the sailing sheets get stuck in the propeller => now you have no sails & no motor… (situation i lived) Also, use the tender fore safety during the drill. Just imagien what happened here if the motor didn't start or if Babs loses sight of Brady in the blink of an eye…

  8. Should do a night MOB drill. Totally different animal. Its frightening, even if its a drill, and controlled. Well done though! Brady took one for the team. As he always does…
