Heaving to is the way to go. Running off is dangerous and exhausting. Unless you have a life threatening emergency, or are in a race, there is no need to run off. Even if you will end up in the Lee of a storm nearly becalmed after. Just don't motor unless you have no choice, and keep enough fuel reserves handy for such an occasion.
Here I am still making my way through from the beginning to the present day. It will be a sad day when I have no more episodes to binge on. It has seriously helped me through lockdown here in Leeds, UK as it feels like an escape!
I don’t know much about marine life and I know even less about women but I know one thing and one thing well enough to have a child with a woman. But I was thinking to myself why would you have a child underway???! After looking at your wife standing there at the helm I was like holy crap how did you manage not to have a child for so long while underway?! 😂

So glad I found you. I say often that I'm a 24 yr old guy trapped in a 78 yr old body and have enjoyed many of the adventures you show, ie sailing, scuba diving, traveling,… etc. You're videos are great and I very mush like how you show the essence of the experience of sailing long voyages on the seas. The one experience I have not had is a long passage so it is great experiencing it with you in you're videos. Looking forward to more adventures, safe travels and God's speed to you.
