There is no correct or incorrect way to do the "spiral". There are are 4 ways to tie this knot depending on which hand is holding the tag end and whether the tag end goes over(O) or under (U) the standing end to form the loop at the start. The tag end goes O, U, O, U, O or vice versa.
Thanks! I'm not a sailor but every Fall when I clean the valleys on my roof, I refresh myself before I secure my safety line to my anchor before I clip on to harness. I give my tail lots of line so it doesn't loosen but thanks for the "Alex weave" pointer.

you bowline knot teachers are all dumb.. you can do "your first mistake" example correctly… you just put the lose end INTO the hole first and go from there, rather than start from under up THROUGH the small loop.. duh. Same thing, but from other side… bottom side as YOU show it.

So you did the rabbit out of the hole, round the tree and back down the hole, you just didn't use those words. As for doing it round an object, such as the carabiner used here, I had figured out that this made it easier, or at least eliminated the possibility of doing it wrong, just prior to watching this video. The one difference is that I prefer to make the loop before feeding the running end around/through the object, for some reason it seems more intuitive to me, but the outcome is still the same.
Anyway, well done on producing a video with nice, clear instructions and not letting your hands block the view of what you're doing, unlike some of the others.

Greetings from Brazil, and thank you so much for this video. I'm just learning about knots and hitches. If I may ask you something: if the rope is strong enough, can I use the Bowline to tow a car? You know, in one of those situations where a friend, family member or whatever runs out of fuel, or have an electric or even mechanical problem with their car, in tyhe middle of the night, and call me for help, can I use the bowline to use my car and tow theirs? Or is there a specific knor for that?

The bowline shown at 6:15 is an eskimo bowline. It's better than a regular bowline if you intend to crossload the fixed loop.
The variation at 15:53 is generally called "Scott's locked bowline", maybe he stole it from Alex 🙂
