  1. The rant is real. I remember the time LVB lost their navigation, and could not get the parts to fix it. It made for an interesting story line, but was not encouraging to aspiring boaters. Wharram's really seem to embrace a simple, sustainable, and safe experience. Growing up on boats has ingrained the idea that boats are just holes in the water that you pour money into. That is, until I began to learn about Wharram's.

  2. Hello, I enjoy your content! It's fantastic and so are your adventures. I am only 17 and also a fellow Australian, but I would like to live your lifestyle in the future! What's something/some things I could now to get a 'taste' of the sea life or some advice. Thank you, I do appreciate it and keep up the good vids!

  3. Just came across your channel, looks like your all having fun. I can't believe the weather you're having-do you ever have storms?
So your earlier point about the commercialization of yachties….hmm, if it pays the maintenance, food and hopefully a bit (not much usually) left over then its ok!! ) The thing that I think is sad is seeing a channel that is about doing your homework and going through all the brands and the massive dollars some of these cats cost v's getting out on the water at reasonable cost like you are doing. Congratulations for showing us it IS possible to have a ball and do what you love.
My personal story is I have sailed since a baby with my father mainly, I owned a 14 and 16 foot twin sail Hobie. As I had a near tripple fatality work accident (first near death..unconscious from falling unrestricted 8.5m to road and twice more trying to recover) just over 5 years ago. I have a very painful life now and given most pain relief is when I am laying in bed, this is where I am 95% of the time. This is why I love channels like yours as I can relate to sailing like it is second nature. I also sailed on my fathers 46 foot masthead sloop for many years in all the rolls racing and cruising…sailing is "in my blood". I wish your channel all future success and will no doubt enjoy future and past episodes. So great to see you living the dream! I really hope to join you out on the seas with my wife and 2 kids.
Don't forget my question above! 🙂

  4. Going corporate…it is what it is. They have certainly earned it, 7 years sailing the globe and exposing how many million people to sailing and amazing locations. I had NO interest in going to Madagascar till SV Delos. The Amel is a nice boat but not for them, its a wine and cheese boat for weekend sailers…..then again i,sent all of these million dollar boats these days.

  5. Hi Stew and Crew, well I used to be an avid La Vagabond watcher but it got taken over by glitz and glam so I very much understand your opening comments. I believe Reily is still an Alby mangles heart with beer pockets but Elay has wine tastes.

My guess is that they probably tried to get a deal with the manufacturer of the original la vag but had their hearts set on a cat and took the best offer they could extract. Good luck to them for the upgrade and I guess you could say no harm done really, except for the fact that it has totally changed the dynamic, presentation and genuineness of their original endeavour.

Far too produced now for my taste, I like the raw and simple presentation of real life and not the showy drone footage of "look where we are now and the boat we are on" I have arrived perspective.

Hence why I am watching you guys now instead, sadly for the 2 channels mentioned I think it will take people leaving their channels for them to register that when you are on a good thing "stick to it".

If you are ever thinking of doing the same make sure you only stick to a Wharram or a second hand known brand and not a floating gin palace. I would really love to see you guys in a bigger boat with more conveniences and covering but am grateful for the adventure and bravery with the boat you have.

    Please stay true.

  6. Hi there, :), a question regarding Lucky Fish; where was she built?
I'm getting more and more hooked on the design. I have also been following Tangaroa from South Australia. The Tiki 38 seems to be the right balance of Hull Size and deck space.
Also I love those wind vanes and haven't seen them on any other Tiki 38's. Were they installed by the original builder? and were they on the design plans or added later? Great video's… Thanks

  7. Fun video. we are on a small cat and have had our eyes on a cat like yours rather than our present 36 feet. It would allow more blue water sailing. Some of the lashings etc. shown in other videos worry me some. I am in a wheelchair full time but still sail.

  8. I learned a lot, enjoyed your cast, and relaxed with a smile because of your efforts. Much better than pain pills, for an old disabled sailor. Thank you.

  9. I clicked on this with no intention to watch, seems like you’re always hanging off the coattails of others with the way you word your videos. I can only suggest make more exciting videos then possibly you can stand on your own 2 feet. You’re like the click bait king

  10. I don’t think you have to worry about the Delos crew. Firstly, I can’t see Amel donating a 1.2 million euro yacht, and even if they did it wouldn’t change the content.

  11. I know this is an old vid but I came across it when looking for info on Amel Yachts. Being a fan of VS Delos and La Vagablonde, I found the title and opening comments a bit deceiving. Not only are you trying to cash in on the fame of VS Delos with the title, you sound a bit jealous that they might of been getting a deal with Amel, which is the company that has surely profited from their hard work and adventures.

  12. I just stumbled across this channel …. pfff using SLV and Delos like this ….
Its cool that youre trying to report or what ever lie you tell yourself….
Worry less about other channels and do your best to grow your own following instead of an attempt of stealing views….

I notice this vid is from a year+ ago …. no change in your channel or your subs count ….

this is the reason why they have a well polished 300k channel with loyal people that LOVE thier channel ….

  13. I can’t watch the other sailing channels.. they are so fake and so corporate.. thanks for keeping it real👍😊

  14. This is the first one of your videos I have watched and within the first few minutes, you're casting a shadow on @briantrautman, another you tuber by totally misrepresenting the motivation behind their educational visit to the manufacture of their vessel. Belittling others doesn't make you superior. Keep your videos positive and you will attract more positive people.
