1. Such a perfect basic introduction. I was going to create something similar once I learn how to sail my larger boat because I couldn't find a video like this. Thanks for going back and forth from technical terms to, you know "left" side of the boat. 🙂 Looking forward to exploring your channel to see if you have more great content.

  2. Hi. I have difficulties with your channel and with your integrity on Youtube.Four years later you claim you never docked a boat and here you are giving us advise in 2017. None of your projects succeed, your Limonada is about to sink.

  3. Left/Port/Red – all the short words go together (Right/Starboard/Green, long words). This is the only thing I knew about sailing before watching this. Thanks for the education.

  4. I’ve been enjoying your more current content (2022) for awhile now. Just stumbled on this work of art. (Hysterical 🤣)
    Thanks for the cheer !!

  5. Thanks maaaan!
Just a small hint to scroogyness: The sheets pull the sheets.
And the stays make the mast stay. The boom booms… Took time since I understood where Schot, Baum, Stag came from… Fair winds!

  6. Huub,
I have been reviewing your lesson to make sure I’ve got it. Your suggestion about “ you might as well continue to sail around the world,” sounds good! Lol

  7. Very nicely presented. I just learned everything that I need to know before I buy that 50 foot sail boat that I have been wanting to purchase. 🙂

  8. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

    (Jn.1:1-14)

  9. Easy way to remember port and starboard, stand at the stern (the back), face the bow (the front). Imagine your mast is a big POST, POrt and STarboard.

  10. Thank you for posting this video. I'd like to see more sailing for beginners. I'm 45 years old, and I want to buy a boat and sail away. You are inspiring to me. You saw what you wanted and you went for it. My only problem is the I live in the mountains of northeast Georgia. I have to learn to sail in a lake. Once I get certified, I'm buying my forever boat and hitting the 7 seas. Thank you again. I look forward to seeing your new videos.
